A great price for this gadget - compared to the analogue scales usually seen in pound shops, these are smaller, much more accurate and easier to use.

They can measure up to 40kg/88lb. The scale is in increments of 5g. I compared the measurement of a few small things with my kitchen scales and they were accurate to within 10g, which is good enough for me.

You hold it by the cloth strap and hook the item on at the bottom. The light flashes until the weight stabilizes, then the reading locks even after you've put the item down: very convenient.

The cloth strap is secure- I held up a bicycle with it no problem.

The hook folds into the back of the unit when not in use.

Takes 2xAAA batteries and powers off automatically after 1 minute.

Measures 8x5x2cm.

The only weak points I've found are: #1 The hook is small, so you'd have to rig something up to fit it round a plastic suitcase handle. #2 The battery hatch doesn't fit very tightly; however I've not had it fall off.

Great price

thank you

The rigging it up so I can use it, put me off.

Great price. I bought the same one earlier this year for £2.99. It has been used quite a few times and has always been spot on. Would definitely recommend getting one!

A short loop of webbing strap inserted through your suitcase handle, with the ends looped over the hook, would do the trick.

Oddly enough the packaging implies that this is included - "Webbing loop goes over hook for easy use"- but it's not.

I would consider it faulty then. If I have to buy some other piece of kit just to use it.

Fair enough. All my bags or rucksacks have a soft strap or a suitable loop the hook will fit through, so it works well for me.

I have a hard suitcase and it works fine on the handles as it is. I just wish I had got one sooner!!

Hi, which store was this in?

very useful and a lot better than the manual one, they can weight anything with a discrepancy of lets say maybe no more than 100g. maybe a lot better if steady, 100gr is after all the minimum step.Tested against proper good scales

I found mine in the Aberdeen Kittybrewster Poundworld store. There were a couple in the travel section, and more in the hardware section.

Still weighing up weather to buy this

I know what you mean. I've had so many faulty cars. Apparently you need some extras to actually be able to use it. I think one was called petrol or something.

This would be an excellent cheap chuck in the tackle box item for an angler.

Purchased one as a back up for a more expensive set , calibrated one against the other both showed the same weight

Paid a fiver on ebay for exactly the same scales.....great product...accurate

I'm not sure why this deal has been expired, but the scales are still available online at Poundworld's Website:
