Got this exact one a few months ago (with the VR headset "glitch" deal), and it's a great laptop. Definitely a good price for it!

To be honest I haven't really tested the battery to its fullest yet, but this guy reckons you can get over 5 hours watching movies.
    Thank you

1060 gtx Can run most if not all current titles as well as VR. I would assume it's pretty smooth, especially with the i7 behind it

Great little gaming laptop. Loving mine. PUBG all the way since I've had it. Heat from me.
    Hello Folks,

As a previous owner of Dell 7577 I would say this laptop is a good value for money. You can play PUBG , GTA V , CS:GO , Overwatch and Etc on 1080p High settings easily. On top of that It is on a throw away price trust me you will not get any laptop with that specs on with a good customer service. I have been through there customer service before and trust me they never disappointed me. The only downside is the IPS anti glare screen when the sun will shine and if shines on you then you will be blind and wont see anything on the screen but hey come on you can use your curtains for sure and if not buy 1 for 10 to 15 pounds. All in all this is A Beast Machine. The only reason I sold this was because I wanted to upgrade to an MSI which costed me around 1500. But do keep in mind not the best Screen to have on Dell Laptops unless you are happy for what you get and have a Monitor in place to be used with.

    Peace.
Great laptop ruined by a terrible screen. Still going to give it heat though, as the price is good.

Even after Dell upgraded the screen from TN panel to IPS panel last year?

Any recommendations With a better screen? What would a novice look for as far as screen quality goes? Cheers . Voted hot.
Incredible specs for a laptop under £1000.

I remember buying a top of the range £1000 laptop in 2006 a dual core 2 processor with inbuilt graphics.

I Have replaced it many times since:( Its specs are now barely usable for internet browsing.

Screen is probably one of its weaker attributes, but I have no problems with it (though I do mainly use an external monitor most of the time). I remember during the last deal someone had mentioned you can replace it with a really nice 4k screen for under 100 pounds more, but I'm not sure whether you can do that upon purchase or whether you'd have to do it yourself.

Unfortunately, yes. It annoys the hell out of me that companies see fit to put sub-par screens in gaming laptops. It's the one area they skimp on because most people don't ask questions.

Asus GL502 VM & HP Omen 15 (120hz screen, not the 60hz as that's also poor),

You're looking for good colour coverage, peak brightness, good contrast ratio, black level and colour accuracy. Also low input lag.

Time to upgrade the Alienware M17x R4 I have had for years. CPU is still rocking but the 680m is gettting a little long in the tooth.
Same exact specs as my PCSpecialist laptop that cost me £1300 8 months back. Great performance all round, just grab a decent cooling pad!
    Why is this so heavy?
Nothing but problems with mine. Lid not aligned correctly at the hinge. Replacement sent out exactly the same. Also light bleed around the webcam and around the bezel.Dell support is not good. Very complicated system which doesn’t sort the problems out.

    Waiting for a refund now.
DELL awful awful customer service!! Worst ever! Good laptop though. Be careful of the battery glitch. Mine gets stuck in sleep and you have to take it apart to get to the battery
Just ordered this unaware of the issues with the screen, is it really that bad? Kinda regret it now.

Yep, DELL’s customer service sucks at comprehending issues/problems. I remember it took ages for them to sort out a problem with my Inspiron laptop. It was as if I was speaking Chinglish to their Indian tech support. Hopeless!

You’re better off going with another company that offers better customers services cos when things go wrong it will be a long waiting time before your problem is resolved.

Have to disagree on the Omen, even the 120hz panel. The screen is just as poor, and also has higher response times meaning it suffers from ghosting. It has slightly more contrast but still not a good screen.

The dell screen has good response times, but the contrast is simply awful. MSI make cheaper gaming laptops with better TN panels than the IPS in this.

Keyboard isn’t the best either but turns out the thermals are excellent even compared to laptops twice the price, so there’s a nice positive.

for the price it’s just about worth it. Plus you can always keep it stowed away and have an external monitor setup with mouse and keyboard. Takes up less space than a desktop, and still allows you to take it wherever you want should you need to.

If you have nothing to compare it to you’ll be fine, and honestly if you only use it for gaming it probably won’t matter.

Any smartphone display from the last 3-4 years outclasses it though.

Are you sure you're not thinking of the 17" version? I had that and yes, it wasn't very good. 15" is apparently pretty good though and has reviewed well. Response times are pretty much what you'd expect from an IPS screen in its price range. TN would obviously be better but you sacrifice colour accuracy/saturation & viewing angles.

You should be laughing all the way to the bank. The stats of this for the price is honestly insane. Even if you invested in a monitor and use this as a desktop replacement at home it's still an incredible deal. If I could find 1 reason where I could use this over my desktop I would be buying one myself.
I was thinking of upgrading my laptop to play FM. Which is very CPU intensive. This cpu is a year old. Worth this price or wait for new HQ Version to come out?
