Yes it has. Do I expire this or leave as a pointer since it still looks to be the cheapest UK shop (selling import) I can currently find ?

Mr_Bump

Superb lens steal at this price

inthevale1

All of my lenses are muddy to varying degrees, but the UV filter (almost throwaway item, compared to lens price) is an absolutely must-have - all the time, regardless of terrain.

scav

I had a 62mm CPL from my old Canon 650 and tried it but the drop on light was ridiculous. Ordered a Hoya UV filter to stick on when in hazardous terrain and will probably use the hood the rest of the time.

That was via an email code only though ... So unless you're on their mailing list in order to get their emails etc, then I'll doubt you're likely to ever come across this kinda price for yourself again? - via such a method? (Black Friday/Cyber Monday aside that is, lol). I could be wrong?.

chatanm

I bought a 2017 iPad off them a couple of weeks ago. Their support is shocking (they are *very* slow to respond to emails) but otherwise I can’t fault them. Took them a week from ordering to ship then about 6 days to arrive. You get a non-UK plug in th iPad box but they include an adaptor in the parcel. Would i recommend? For the saving, yes. Just use a credit card!

rodman

actually UK cheapest is £319 from JL with 3 year guarantee included which is better investment anyday IMHO https://www.johnlewis.com/2018-apple-ipad-9-7-inch-a10-ios-11-wi-fi-32gb/p2999393

crazy_b

No one seems to like eglobal but I used them last week and got this exact iPad for £206. Came within a week and everything very good . Don’t get why people don’t like them but I would save the cash and use them again straight away

mcav

The 2018 model hits the same spec points as the iPad Pro, and is compatible with Apple's pen input.

The 5600 has nice articulating touch screen, much lighter than 7xxx series and smaller and also supports nfc/wifi. Its not really a bad upgrade from 5100. Last month I sold my 5100 which had served me great for 4 years and wanted to upgrade to d5600 but didn’t find any cheap offers. I had posted this deal for 5600 when someone commented about the Lumix Panasonic fz1000 which tbh I am quiet liking it as I am not really into professional photography and I love the long zoom range it provides. Its a decent all in one camera. Though not great for low light, but it offers same articulating screen and remote use through your smart phone which is so handy to click photos in low light as it avoids camera shake.

Prosamuraiman

The 35mm doesn't do bokeh well hence my comment above. Additionally the 50mm is also compatible with a full frame camera so is a better long term investment, however the 35mm is a good all rounder if bokeh isn't your thing.

zzzz

"I also encourage you to get the Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens (under £150) if you want great night shots and bokeh portraits" , well maybe . . . but I would say the 35mm 1.8 is more useful at similar price - KR likes his a lot.

toaster

If you are talking about the D5600, it definitely doesn't have the AF motor back in the body.

Prosamuraiman

Touch wood nothing goes wrong but I felt pretty confident with the build quality of the camera so reckon the 1 year was enough, especially as the camera was quite cheap to begin with. Whichever retailer you go with, don't hesitate as the D5500/5600 is a brilliant little thing. Oh and one other thing, I also encourage you to get the Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens (under £150) if you want great night shots and bokeh portraits. If you want to get a good wide lens for a cheapish price the Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 is also pretty good for <£300 on Einfini.

To honest you'll be fine. Besides being protected on your credit card, I checked out some reviews and forum experiences and people generally seem happy. I bought a camera last year from Panamoz, after checking reviews out. I emailed them in the early hours of Monday morning, the week of Good Friday, and got them to price match some items on a few items from other sites. While "risky", I did a bank transfer to get a further 5% discount, and ordered Monday afternoon. I needed the camera by Thursday and I got it delivered by UPS on Wednesday afternoon! I didn't have to pay any extras. While tempted by this offer. I don't really have money, but it is a great deal. :)

I purchased from here last Thursday and it was with me Monday. camera is perfect the charger is an america plug but there's an adapter inc. actually helps me as I visit the states a lot so means less to carry. I believe the warranty is through them but hopefully I won't need it so shouldn't be a problem. I have to say its a great deal its over £100 more at Curry's. point being I would recommend the company.

anyone bought from this site? very interested in this deal, sounds to me like grey imports aren't a big worry, thanks

TheEntertainmentKing

I am the exact same, and have had no issues. Great camera

A0000C

Depends what you want to do with it. They are both good. If you care somewhat about video, get the A6000. If you don't, well, the Nikon is fine. I would also suggest the Panasonic G7, which is available for £319 after cashback on Wilkinson Cameras. That's probably better than these two as it's essentially a budget GH4, which is an excellent, excellent camera.

It's £889 at currys.co.uk + 1.05% Topcashback. The good thing with Apple is that their warranty for laptops is worldwide. If you want to go down the grey import route, cheapest place to pick up Apple gear is Hong Kong (same plug as the UK). Prices can be up to 20-25% cheaper.

Paradroid888

It points to being a grey import because the model number should be MF839B/A but they've just said MF839 and left the UK specific part out. Sneaky.

bigman

Naturally we also introduce new lines and remove old lines as they become obsolete. Our products are imported from various sources around the world. Kulaak

So one for video & one for pics. That's a lotta dosh & carrying around.

rs_tigerblade

Partly true, especially between nikon and canon but sparkle hedgehog is right. The a6000 blows this out of the water in everyway. It depends what you use it for as well. I would never use this for pro video but use the a6000 quite a lot.

I think it's more down to personal preference, there pros & cons for most of the top brands

The Sony a6000 blows this canon out of the water but unfortunately people mentality still dictates that there are only two brands to consider when buying a new camera.

mikeyfive

Full frame cameras are relatively cheap nowadays and this is a great lens, the difference is image quality between this and the 1.2L is definitely not worth the extra £900+.

FatalSaviour

How so? I think the 50mm focal length works best on a FF body, and it's a good compromise between not being too plasticky (1.8), and not hideously expensive (1.2L). Of course, there are some very good Sigma 1.4 alternatives, but they're generally not as cheap as this still.

pet2000

If you can afford a full frame camera, you probably wouldn't buy this lens :)

mikeyfive

You've got to remember, if you're using this on a crop sensor, which most people do, it's actually a nifty-80 rather than a nifty-fifty.

FatalSaviour

I'd agree that the build quality feels better on this lens (for a start, having an actual focus ring to grip rather than terrible plastic front ridge (a la 50mm f/1.8) is a definite plus. However, I'd be wary of knocking it (due to the front element). I'd perhaps go so far as to say I'd expect my f/1.8 to come off better from small-medium knocks!
