Good low rate heat

Agreed, not bad at all for 18 month at that rate

Heat from me!

"we'll reduce this to 0.79% by a refund to your Post Office Money Platinum Account within 90 days of the balance transfer transaction date"

Does this mean you have to have a bank account with them?

It should be refunded to your 'Platinum Account Credit Card'. Did this before with Halifax, and they did likewise.

Got this for travels. Its a good free card. But their customer service is non assistance. You have to mail in a signed form to set up a direct debit payment and it took months of messing about. They said they didn't receive the first 2 forms that I sent and only after I sent a complaint letter did they finally set it up the 3rd signed direct debit form.

Good card for using abroad as you'd get the same rates as post office charge when you want to exchange money. Regarding customer service; they're not the best but do their job after a few phone call

shame you cant transfer balances for more than 1 card on it - in the initial application

TCB offers £25.25 for this card

Poor eligibility from what I gather....

from Quidco "Find the card that's right for you with the Post Office Credit Cards, get either a matched or Platinum card and get £27.50 cashback"

Previously applied for this card via TCB. Heard nothing from credit card people subsequently and obviously nowt from TCB.

Does the 18 months balance transfer period start from when you open the account or from when you transfer the balance? e.g. If you transfer after the 2nd month and get 18 months you would not need to pay back until 20 months after opening the account?

Thanks!

I love the fact that my Post Office Mastercard allows purchases abroad with low conversion rates and no conversion fee.

However, their website is complete and utter bobbins. It literally doesn't even work sometimes even when you're logged in. Definitely the worst online financial site I've ever used, including the early days of online banking.

Supposedly there are plans to improve it, but no signs yet.

I had to chase.. and chase.. and chase for mine. Eventually got my £40 but I wasn't impressed with needing to hunt it down and how long it took. Not the slickest operation all round.

It depends on the card provider. When I've taken offers like this in the past, they have stated "transfer within 30 days of account opening" or "for balance transfers completed by dd/mm/yy" or similar.
Hope that helps!

I took out a Lloyds one in December offering 28 months interest free for balances transferred within 90 days. I did a transfer yesterday and checked this point - apparently with them the 28 months is from the date the account is opened, not the date of the transfer.

i was rejected by this last summer despite having a stellar credit rating - only thing I've been knocked back for anything in years including a mortgage
ordered my credit report from experian (which i do so annually) and it didn't have any blips or areas of concern
ended up going with barclaycard instead which was approved with no problems

How many credit cards do you have?

Bank of Scotland 10/10 charges only 0.4% fees on balance transfer, although 0% is for only 10 months.

Applied for this on Monday, tcb hasn't tracked yet but I see in 7 days.

I already have a platinum post office credit card opened 2 years ago. Can I close it and open a new matched one?

Really?

OK then, say you have £500 on credit card 'A' and you don't pay it off in full each month, you'll be accruing interest each month
You apply for and are accepted for card 'B' so you transfer the £500 from card 'A' to 'B' and are only charged a small percentage (transfer fee), you then get X many months to pay off that £500 and you'll no longer be accruing interest each month (During the 0% period)

My boyf applied for this and he has to send a collection of information back to them before they will give him an answer - utility bills and the such - had to wait 2 weeks for that letter and now is going to take more time in sorting all the required information.

Are you asking my to post up my credit report? I'd rather not share such personal info on such a public site.

Try Santander 123 credit card @ 23 months 0% on balances & purchases also a ongoing offer on that card is
Cashback
You can earn:
1% cashback at all major supermarkets
2% cashback at all major department stores
3% cashback at all major petrol stations, and on National Rail and Transport for London travel (on combined spend of up to £300 a month)

In addition switch to a 123 current account and get £24 annual fee on credit card refunded for the first year by paying direct debit from that account.

Great card for abroad as mentioned and agree that their online banking is awful. It works....just. There's even a limit on the transactions it can show so you have to wait for your printed statement to check.

Balance transfer element is only hot if you actually pay off your debt. Sometimes moving it to 0% for a while stops you from tackling the main problem - spending more than you can afford and carrying the risk that debt brings.
