Good deal, but there's no 'e' in potato.

That's a very good price. Although they're designed for potatoes and strawberries, you can use these for most vegetables if you haven't got room for a vegetable garden. I grow loads of stuff in them including runner beans, peas and salad veg.

All of these things are now 75% off in wilkos too, if you have no Tesco near you. The herb planters were now 75p, same with the large tattie sacks but you only got one.

bought some in my local tesco today also had girly gardening sets reduced too

There is a precedent.

Correction: a vice-precedent.

Cheers, picked up a one of each at lunch time

just picked one up, hope they grow, last ones didn't

I had some old tates in the cupboard that had grown legs. Got the wife to plant them. She put them with the legs out of the soil X)

Planting taters out of your grocery bags is pointless. Only seed potatoes actually produce

Would you have a reason for that?

Some supermarket potatoes are treated so they don't sprout but in my experience most are fine to plant. Just wait till you see them start to sprout and you'll know.

Only came here to do a Dan Quayle joke, but it's been covered already...

Yeah wtf lol. Mine were ready to escape. I always used to plant the ones that had 'gone to seed'.

Well I've just learned that you can still yield taters from shop bought that have started to sprout. There was me thinking (for some bizarre reason) it wouldn't work, like they treated not to produce!

True, look what happened to Dan Qualye.

Sorry that's probably what you meant. Also in the time it took me to have a pee and try and think of his name, it looks like someone else has said it.

We get our potatoes in 25kg sacks and i always plant those once they begin to shoot and i have very good crops yearly.
Think you may have a point we the supermarket spuds, when they shoot they seem to be stunted.

As I've been increasingly proven wrong, I might even give this a go.
