I have been informed that Poundland are having a big 50p sale starting on Monday 31st.
Also that alot of the more expensive stuff like branded perfumes etc are also going to be reduced (not to 50p but really cheap)

You mean you don't believe the OP?! oO
Suppose they need some gimmick to get customers back. I never go in anymore unless I want batteries - nothing else is even worth £1. It's not the shop it started out as being.

They had a promotion a few months ago and the only things that were 50p were things that had been 2 for a £1 anyway. No bargains to be had, that's why I'll be amazed if they have things like shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, toothpaste for 50p. Would be lovely if they do as it'll be cheaper than going to the wholesalers!!
went into town last week and poundland was half empty, went into town today, and pep and co says its moved into that poundland store. I saw the 50p gardening items. someone bought poundland last year, I'm unsure what they are doing with the company, but people just like to pop in and know everything is £1, not £3, and now clothes, seem to be mixing the two shops together.
Will look out Monday. Thanks for the head up

The batteries certainly aren't worth £1!
Adding the clothing range has ruined our local store.
They seem to have got rid of the stuff I am interested in.
Thanks OP, will be checking this out on Monday.

I think the 4 Sony Alkaline AA/AAA are probably worth £1. The non-alkaline batteries they sell are rubbish.
Checked out the 50p sale - waste of time. It was the junk that obviously isn't selling. A few scabby nail polishes, dirty scruffy Donnay socks (men twin pack, kids 3 pack). The Donnay socks were previously 2 packs for a pound so no real discount on them. A few sets of make up brushes in a plastic wallet. Some gardening stuff was 50p but not everything. Umbro shower gel 400ml. In my opinion no bargains apart from Umbro shower gel as it was definitely worth 50p. The rest of the stuff was in scruffy, torn packaging and looked like it had been swept up off the floor. This was in the Royal Quays store at North Shields.
