Not quite as some items sold in ‘ poundland ‘ are more than £1

Even with %25 off there would still be more product for well more than a pound as they are no longer a pound land perhaps starting with a pound
Gateway to the south .....
Any idea why it is closing down?
Some of their stuff is reduced weight or size compared to the normal. Their Toilet paper is rubbish , giant hole in the middle and fluffed up to appear larger , unsatisfactory at best. ruff .

I only opened this post to see how long it would take for someone to say this!
Bolton Burnden Park store is closing today. 50% off everything.

However it appears they've transferred anything half decent out to other stores. Its just like a jumble sale of shite now.
Isn't that normal?
Pound land used to be great but inflation has busted their business model. No longer any bargains in there. Just stuff you can get elsewhere for same money or less, also some packs sizes are smaller to allow them to sell for a pound, so not value for money. Other stuff is either more than a pound or cheap garbage that ends up in the bin after 5 minutes.
Even their kodak batteries are rubbish now. Don't last 5 minutes.
Shame as used to love a good pound shop

Could be closing down for a number of reasons, the one in Birchwood, nr. Warrington closed in the New Year because another retailer came in with a higher offer on the monthly rent.

Probably worth waiting off another week for those close to Balham store as they will reduce everything by 50% and then 75%, although by then doubt there will be much that is worth 25p
Final trading day for Balham store is Saturday 10th February (apparently Lidl is taking over the site)

Rent increase.
because the manager is always in bad faith and people noticing that would not go back for sure. They have not seen me for sometime now. Use the one in Streatham, also there is free parking around there
Shame it's closing, there is a lidl already in balham park, no need for another really.
Thinks its becoming an ALDI
