Daddies sauce was bought by HP and then subsequently by various take overs became part of the Heinz group of companies, but still made to their original recipes and one could hardly tell the difference between the two sauces. I would by the large bottles of Daddies as this came out at approx. 50% of the price of HP for what I considered to be the same taste. Unless in the past few years they have messed about with the recipes I would go for Daddies. Can't get it here in Spain, so HP it is.

Don't worry about dates, I brought several and I mean several giant bottles of HP brown and Heinz tomato over to Spain and they lasted without problem for 5 years but had to throw 2 bottles of tomato away, due to lower usage than expected, as they had gone off.
