I know it's a cheap brand and will probably die after a couple of hours use, but most of us would only really use one of these a few times in our lives, and they're priceless when you need one. 950w, variable speed and it comes with a dust bag.

3 year warranty
I use one similar for amateur carpentry with a range of hardwoods and highly recommend these higher output cheap belt sanders. I've used a few of the more expensive belt sanders and see very little difference other than the increased price.
Very much doubt you'd suffer from a failure after 2 hrs the hard work I've put mine through, more like 2+ yrs before problems!

If anyone needed to know, the belt size on this is the fairly standard 75x533mm, and the exhaust fitting to the bag can easily have a vacuum (i.e. earlex extractor) fitted.
Great reply Joe, just got back from an Aldi and saw this in the catalogue. Was really tempted, and was about to look through the argos catalogue to compare some models but your post and the 3 year warranty sealed the deal
I have this exact model I bought from Aldi from about 2 years ago and it's great. The sanding belts from there are decent too.

@joetipper: I read an article somewhere about how the average person uses a drill for less than one hour in their entire lifetime, because it is used in short bursts, a couple of seconds a hole. The two hours I reckoned for this sander were in those terms (for an average person). But I should probably retract my statement about quality anyway after gavjbrown pointed out the 3 year warranty (but I'm not going to ).
I have one of these and it is very useful, the only problem is find a drive belt for it as I have worn mine out, so far probably used for a total of 10 hours and still going strong
Well worth the £20.00
