I got one of these a while back (paid more) but all seem decent. The Screwdriver is either On/Off theres no speed control on it though. Haven't used any of the tools much as haven't had the need yet.

Gotta be hot at that price.

Seems great value for money. Kind of wish I didn't own other versions of these. I think the wife would go spare if I doubled up just because of the price :-)

Decided to buy 2 sets, and save one set as a gift.
I got a £10 off £50 code emailed to me the other day, so ony £21.87 per set.
Happy days.

Good price, just cant justify them at the moment, as i own to many tools as it is

some things are rubbish at any price... and, dear god, please, PLEASE, don't give these as a gift, unless you really hate the person or they're living in a bus shelter because any diyer would just be embarrassed to have these cluttering up their garage/workshop/ bus shelter seat.

Was looking for a basic drill but even the Argos Challenge ones are £15, so for an extra £12 for the other bits is a snip as our old sander has also gone but wasn’t bothered either way about replacing it yet, so that’s a nice bonus, fully expecting the cordless driver to be pants but probably ok for the older lads meccano as it will be low speed so no danger to him.

I need one of these to start performing illegal victorian-style operations.

great price...

Missed that and already ordered the set, they way I kill power tools I only buy budget anyway (I am just as bad with better brands too) so a spare set of most apart from circular saw and grinder (which I already have a spare one of to to it first arriving with damaged cable and the seller told me to keep it and replaced it too).

Does the go to deal link work for anyone else or is it just me it redirects back to this thread?

PS Heat added Boony2310

The drill alone is worthy of its own post at that price.

Thanks Boony2310. Just ordered one.

There is a post with the drill and a few other cheap power tools here hotukdeals.com/dea…739

Hope no one plans on actually using these to get anything done...not worth anything at all.

They can't be that bad, at the very least I would expect the drill to make holes, the jigsaw to cut wood, etc....
If they are junk then take them back for a refund, you get 1 years gaurantee. Nothing to lose.

Contrary to what has been said, this is a good basic starter set of power tools. In due time they can be replaced by better no doubt, but in the meantime they will drill, screw, sand, saw, and hold well enough. No working Tesco Direct codes that I can find, but that would have been gilding the lilly I guess. Thanks OP, heated.

Thanks, I thought this deal might be more popular to be honest,
But hey ho, you can't please everyone! (_;)

Don't worry, it was a good deal. The problem is that it is only really appropriate for those starting out on the DIY trail, who are uncertain about the worth of it. Unfortunately the "nothing under £100 is worth looking at brigade" have rubbished it and possibly put them off. Other than to repeat that this is a perfectly sound solution for anyone starting out to accumulate a DIY Power Tool collection there's nothing else to do. The words horses and water come to mind...

These are almost disposable tools, at £5 a pop. A years guarantee as a minimum I would think.
Like you said ok for a starter DIYer, and will perform most tasks well enough.

Collected this set this afternoon and is pretty good quality (electricals look exact same as wickes own brands on casings - but I have found this with many "own" brand items) screwdriver is surprisingly punchy as well with decent enough torque which I was not expecting.

Only gripe is work bench is flat pack and instructions not that good, easier to look at assembled picture on the box and wing it from there.

Definitely worth the money.

I've yet to collect mine, but have every confidence they will do the job just fine!

I have never had a problem with own brand tools, they do just the same job I'd rather pay the bit more on quality drill bits and jigsaw blades it really does pay, toolstation are good for these normally.

I picked my order up today, and I have to say they don't look too shabby at all.
I don't expect them to last ten years, but what do you want for £26.

Ordered a set for spares while working in garage. Thanks.

Does any body know the weight of the box?

Great deal, just ordered a set, voted hot.

Sorry but all these "tools" are crap and uneeded - much better off spending £26 towards one decent item.

None of this crap is fit for purpose.

From someone who has bought cheap and instantly regretted it.

Utter garbage - save your pennies

You pipe down and buy this utter garbage - LOL!

Good to see that you get tumescent about a (drill, jigsaw, sander, "driver" and workbench" for £27.

Exactly the type of person that this rubbish would appeal to.

For anyone that wants their tools to be able to drill or cut then they will avoid this crap at all costs.

If you buy a decent drill you don't need a driver. Only pros use a sander if they have a very large area to do - a piece of crap like this is more trouble than it's worth.

Would love to see your finish!

LOL

I don't know what tumescent means, your intellectual rant is wasted on me.

What utter garbage, the drill does exactly what its intended to do - drill

The jigsaw does what I need it too - cut sheet wood into fire length pieces before chopping with an axe for sticks

The sander sands and gets the thickest off as I always give the last by hand.

Like I said before the key is in quality accessories, I prefer the budget tools like this as I know I can lob them about and if it breaks so what?

Lol good price

it means to swell or to grow larger than normal, so it seems it wasn't that much of an intellectual rant after all as the context was way off.
