Bargain!! Double clubcard pts this weekend too (on home delivery, but not collection I don't think)

Cheap enough but dont expect to much from this as the motor is not very powerful.

Unless it is available instore anyway, then this does not get you free delivery, it has to be an order of over £25 for that, so the actual total price will be:
£5.87 + £4.74 = £10.61

It is due to reading it I am none the wiser!
You haven't said "pick up in store" you said "pick up" so IS it available in-store? They certainly didn't have them in my store least weekend, and it is the biggest in the Country!

I have only a very small area of my garden this would be useful in, as such I have never bothered buying one, but because it would get little use, a real cheapie like this would suffice - but less than 6 quid or more than £10 is quite a difference!

"or pick up" with an item from Tescodirect says to me,"pick up" as in "pick up from the Tescodirect counter," for one thing, very few goods on Tescodirect are available instore at Tesco!

thanks nihcal - have edited for those who are not aware of how tesco direct work

as you have stated you only have a small garden so this would be handy for you - saves spending out more than necessary

Yeah, but it is still going to cost £10.61 then if it isn't available in the main Tesco store,, as they charge delivery even for picking up at the counter, unless your order is over 25 quid, that's what I was trying to clear up :-(

I didn't think they did? Is this a change in policy....?

Which stores offer this service? There are a growing number of stores around the country with in store desks, which can be used for placing orders with Tesco Direct or arranging a pick up in-store for £4.85 or FREE on orders over £25 at selected Tesco Direct collection desks.

Evidently they do. I must have always ordered over £25 then because I would refuse point blank to pay a delivery charge to a store.

i bought a similar strimmer from argos and they are pretty poor IMO

i know - but if you only have small garden or want a cheap hair trimmer - its a good price:w00t:

after a few minutes strimming with these you arms will want to drop off. hot price though

we bought a similar one from argos last summer, unfortunately you couldnt get replacement spools for it (which i thought was crazy) so once you run out the entire strimmer goes in the bin. Dont know if this ones the same but its a similar price so wouldnt be suprised.

All these strimmers seem much of a muchness at the budget end. In the hands of an expert the tool becomes better. Fact. Small garden - budget strimmer = fine. If you intend to whack couch grass and nettles down then pass on to a more powerful model or get a scythe.

Agreed - me too, but this could still be a cheap deal, if you were buying something else... as it happens I had a qualifying purchase just last week!

I have one of these. They are basically disposable, once the line runs out it is useless. Mine is still sitting in the shed, anyone with an idea on how it might be re-cycled please speak now...

Any reel of line would do... you never need buy expensive branded spools from the manufacturers! Any, for even for a model that wasn't an exact fit for the spool just unreel it and reel it on your spool! - I have done this before with strimmers in the past when I had a fully lawned garden with a lot more need for one than I have now!

All you do is buy the line in a discount shop... (The sort of places that sell cheap garden tools, hoses and accessories and cheap tools eg the Blackspur range! Even some pound shops have this sort of thing) For example near where I live there are a couple of these discount shops that sell reels of it in a couple of thicknesses.... just wind it on - 5 minute job, just make sure you know where the thign fees through, especially for the auto-feed type.

You can even get this sort of thing online:
toolspot.co.uk/pro…ine
mowermagic.co.uk/aca…tml

Although I think you can probably get the stuff cheaper and easier locally!
