It has a detachable Micro USB cable, but is not wireless.
I got this controller last week, it is wireless and use AA batteries
Original price of £39.99 would be hellish expensive for a wired controller .

The battery compartment is just for fun then?

Oh right, I never went to the linked page. PowerA do wired controllers with detachable Micro USB cables, and thought that the confusion was based on the photo used for this deal.
It comes with a wire but it's wireless.
Had the animal crossing version from power a. Lasted only a few weeks.
Not impressed by power a. Quality is poor.
But at this price worth a punt thru Argos. Test it extensively in first 30 days.
Would this work as a joy con to play Mario party?
@benhornsby1999 it's £19.99 at checkout bud.
