This card outperforms the gtx 260 and even the gtx 280 in some tests comes with a huge 1gb ddr 5 ram

Not worth an extra £30-50 for 1gb memory the 512mb HD4870 can be found at £155 and the performance difference is almost negligible

good price for a good card

Voted cold. the performance increase from a 512mb to 1gb not worth it £50.
I got the the new Sapphire 4870 512mb from pixmania for £155 delivered plus £4 quidco and it is amazing. it idles at 41degrees and 51degrees full load to fanspeed of 30% i could easily overclock it so the performance would be more or less the same.

thats just not true, If you dont play at high res i.e 1080p or above then you dont need the 1gb as your still using a small monitor but if like me your using a 1080p monitor to be able to run antialising etc at 1080p or above you need the 1gb this is just fact.

otherwise a 512 card will suffice but i play at high res with antialising......
