I think this is the cheapest price in the UK for ATI's latest budget performance card.

I don't think this model come with a pci-e power adapter (mine didn't).
Just a little tid-bit for ya.

This card requires that your Power Supply has one standard 6pin PCI-E connector. Most modern PSU's have this, but if not 4pin to 6pin adapters can be found very cheaply.

I will let you know if an adapter is included once I have received my card.

Exactly; I just thought it was worth knowing.
So if you don't have a modern PSU you might want to place and order for an adapter or a new PSU unless you wanna have a graphics card sitting in front of you with no way to use it. That was a long 4 days...

I got the Sapphire version of this card, and it is a huge upgrade over my old 7600gt. It's nice to be back at the cuttig edge again!

Better than 8800GT?

Benchmarks seem to differ (as always), but it seems better than both the 8800gt and the 9800gtx. For example:

ATI are finally back in the graphics card war, and that can only be good for consumers.

I upgraded from an older 8800 GTS to 4870, it's fast, but to be honest it wasn't a hugely noticeable improvement.

Also bear in mind that recently Nvidia's new drivers allow for hardware Physx acceleration on 8000 and 9000 series Nvidia cards (as well as the 260 and 280). There's not a lot that uses it at the moment, but potentially in future it could be a nice feature.

Much better!

Yeah really good cards, mine plays Crisis at 1920x1200 with nearly everything on very high (no AA but 16xAF).

In benchmarking the 4850 comes out almost identical to the 9800gtx

What sort of PSU would you need to run this card? Will it fit in a inspiron 530?

I think a PSU of at least 500W is reccomended for this card. To see if it fits in your computer, you need to check your mother-board to see if it has a PCI-E (express) slot. Your PSU will also need a 6-pin PCI-E adapter.

expired....god I hate ebuyer

oh and btw ive heard of people running this card with 350w psu's perfectly fine
