Good price for a powerful graphics card. Novatech are also a reliable retailer.

Indeed, I have a powercolor 1gb in my PC. Watercooled and clocked to 850/1000....I used to have a GTX 280 and actually prefer this card (I game @ 2048x1152).

Great Deal! I paid £199 for one of these and am very very happy with it. Heat added

Looks like a great card, sadly my current PSU only supports up to a tiny 350W!!!
No way I could run one of these =[

heat added. Glad to see PC deals around here

If you removed your ram, dvd writer, cpu, HD and anything else that uses power, your psu will run this no problem.

Buy a better PSU

In another post (About an AMD Phenom) Someone mentioned I should get a card that does GPU encoding, does this?

I posted the original deal to hexus and the 512mb comes in at £147 and with quidco £143 but I've since sent them a email to cancel it as the new 4890 comes out in less than a month and will be 20-30% faster for about £30 more with a smaller nm gpu so should run cooler.

The 4870 will drop there's speculation that the drop will happen this week so your brand new super fast top of the range card will lose you money near enough straight away and will not be the top of the range card for very long im going to wait as i have a 4850 and am in no rush to throw away money on what will be old technology.

thanks Polly69, I was gonna get one of the recent 4870s but thought it was strange that so many were getting cheaper. I will wait.

Nice card, the 1GB cards of late have not been up to much but this is a good card, should make the most of the power.
