whats the power consumption on these?

Original Poster

not too much

20W-30W idle
95W peak load

I got one of these a while ago, a very good card for the money and works fine on my 300w psu.
Runs Crysis at medium settings at a solid 25fps.

An excellent deal for a very good mid range card.

Good price, voted Hot even though I dont like pixmania that much!!

How does this compare to the XFX 8600GT xxx GDDR3 edition please? I'm looking for a card around £60 for my 2 year old Dell pc which has 375w psu and I'm torn between these two cards. I know there are some benchmark websites, but can't find the right one. Ta!

In terms of price, performance and power consumption, HD3850 is much better than 8600GT

It will run most, if not all of your games at medium/high resolution (which you may not need).

How does this compare with my X1800 XT 256MG card? I'm looking for a decent Directx 10 card for around the £60 to £80 mark.

Wow!!! What a bargain!! Voted hot and linked to another forum (to here of course! ;)).

Here is a review on the card and it's looking like a contender. ]Link
