I'm keeping an eye at Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super WINDFORCE OC 3x, was 500 and now lowest I've seen was 450, currently around 460-470. Hopefully closer to 400 soon.

I've been out of the pc gaming lark for a while, but just looking to get back in. As I see it, the higher end 5700xt's (dragon/devil, pulse etc) match the 2070s for £100-£150 less. You don't get Ray tracing support, but that's only really useable on the 2080 and on due to the performance hit. The 5700xt has better image quality too, from what I gather?

5700 XT is best value mid range+ card by far at the moment so you are correct, comparable and sometimes better performance than the 2070 super for a lot cheaper. And 2080/s/ti are just massive nvidia tax at the moment

I went the 2070 Super route over the XT Red Dragon but Nvidias drivers are crap. I actually only went for the 2070S because it was the same price at my time of looking, thanks to a deal.

The XT is a fantastic card, and at this price the better choice. Honestly, if we were comparing them at the same price, the 2070S wins but not at this price. The extra you gain isn’t worth £100. If you are on the fence, go with this card. The thermals are amongst the best in this sector and the performance is outstanding.

£360 for the Red Dragon at the moment
How do I install this into my Xbox?
I've read a lot of software issues for the 5700xt and people sending it back and getting the 2070 super.
I'm thinking about sending back mine as I have problems with fans. Sometimes they not spinning at all even when GPU reach 100°C (hundred). And yes I have the newest drivers.
This is why I get headache some ppl have good 5700xt then some ppl get bad ones

Which model have you got? Some aftermarket cards don't play well with Radeon setings fan control. Using MSI afterburner can also mess around with the fan control.

Gotca, might be a bad card then. Most likely just needs a bios update though.

Card bios or motherboard bios?
Card.. potentially, don't take my word as something solid but it can sometimes be the case. Check TPU BIOS database if theres more than one version for it that was released later on.

I'm looking to send mine back guys. I wish I knew about the driver issues

Power color any good?
AMD cards do seem to keep having driver issues throughout their release cycles.
I remember buying an early R9 270x when they came out, and that was plagued with driver problems.Took it back for a 7970 which was rock solid. Several years ago i know, but ive not had any issues like it with Nvidia.
Its rather hit and miss.

Are you running the latest version? It seems to have fixed issues for some people. Do a full safe mode uninstall with DDU and then reinstall.
Never had any problem with my 5700. Just ensure to not have Afterburner and it will all be fine. Radeon Control Center is quite powerful anyway.

Driver issues were there when the card was launched, not now. And as time goes, it will mature even more. Inspite of this, it still matches or beats RTX 2070 Super for around £75 less.

Fans not spinning are usually due to conflicting drivers which would need driver cleanup using Driver Sweeper etc and then fresh install of the latest driver. Or it will be a defective card.

And price wise, this is the standard price for this card, so nothing exciting.

I've done that. I keep getting black screen in certain games. Even did a fresh install on windows. It looks likes it's a common problem.

Can you provide us a source where this card beats the 2070 super in most cases?

I own the XT and there are still issues. Check out the community forums. The adrenaline software is bad.

You will find loads of videos and reviews showing this. Here is one from Hardware Unboxed or Techspot. And this is from the time when it was launched, not matured.

Adrenaline software is good but people usually run it with Afterburner or Rivatuner and thats where problems come. AMD does not work well with statistics servers.

So return it or wait for drivers update or do a clean install
If you have not tried a fresh install, that is the first thing i would reccommend. Also, try to use HWInfo for monitoring and if that shows a problem with fans, then get it RMAd.

That's a good card. As long as you didnt play with fan control, then it seems like it's an issue with the card and not the drivers.
