Seems like a nice wee radio for the bathroom or garden. It can be charged by the solar panel / usb or windup. The solar should keep it topped up for the 20 mins I use it per day.

They say 2017-2020, but a date hasn't been set.

Last I heard there were no plans to turn FM off completely at all. The current plan is to gradualy move the major national stations (all BBC ones I think) over to DAB from FM and then open up FM to more smaller local stations all over the UK. I still dont think they have a timeline set for this at all though. FM will still be a viable broadcast format for a very long time, even if its not what your get on it now.
