I can vouch myself did really well replaced all 14 door handles in the house with ease
This DeWalt DCF887 did really well in a group test that I've just watched on YouTube.
I'm pretty close in ordering this as well tbh. I've used DeWalt tools and they feel robust and they are generally accepted as the middle ground, unless you want to throw silly money at it... Which is fine if the work is your bread and butter... I'm just a home DIY'er :) Been after a brushless impact driver and this looks like a good deal to me.
You can drill with them, I have used mine to drill masonry and wood (not needed to drill through metal or plastic yet, but I have no doubt it would do it). And while it does do it, it's not as good as a proper drill. The hammer action is the wrong direction to be as effective on masonry as a proper hammer drill. You have to put quite a lot of push into it. It works, but more for situations where you can't take both impact and drill.
I went ahead and ordered the DeWalt. I have quite a few Ryobi tools, but was let down recently by their cordless multi-tool. Two failed on me at inconvenient times - so, I replaced with a DeWalt multi-tool kit with two batteries. Then the spare battery tempted me to add a drill driver - and now it seems I'm hooked :) So far, the DeWalt kit which I have feels more robust and more capable. This might be due to buying brushless DeWalt equipment. There are some nice things about Ryobi - product range and lower price. As you say, you can get battery adapters - they're a bit bulky though. I believe there's a system being developed for harmonising power tool batteries - https://www.cordless-alliance-system.com/
Looks like it's back up to £64.95
Would you lovely people (grovel, grovel) go for this drill? Or this one? https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/makita-dhp482-combi-hammer-drill-fast-charger-and-3ah-battery-3482622
Great deal but only if you already have Bosch professional battery and charger that you use for some other Bosch power tool, otherwise you're looking at an extra £40 on top for the charger and battery
I have a green Bosch cordless drill and a Blue Bosch impact driver, which I originally bought 'Bare'. Beware that the batteries are not compatible, if you have any cordless tools from Bosch that are green (DIY) the battery will NOT fit the professional range, and the charger will not charge it. Great deal, wish I could justify buying it. Heat added.
Contrary to what you may think... the torque from a 4ah plus battery is a lot more than the 1.3ah but it does add about 1” extra depth. I found the 1.3ah on my Bosch were perfect for getting between joists with a zip-bit fitted, couldn’t get the thing in square with the 5ah plus they were a lot heavier when up a ladder.
Damn..... was looking at this at ffx for £62inc Vat and couldn't it find it on their ebay shop during the Panorama promo. Must of not looked hard enough (annoyed) ........ Guess I'll wait till it comes down elsewhere :(
Yes I got it with the Panama code on ffx
Ideally you need proper impact bits, I use these here https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-mixed-impact-screwdriver-bit-set-32- and they are superb especially considering I bought them on a past deal on here.
What bits would you recommend using, I just bought a impact driver..?
Managed to get one of those (was a good while ago), even though I already had the dtd152! Sold the spare dtd152 on eBay for £55 so the 5ah battery cost me about £15 (y)
Received this morning. Looks very impressive but surprisingly quiet. Thought it would sound a bit more throaty, especially on hammer setting.
👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽 🔨 has to be done Paaji
@pav_chana of course a Tarkhan would post this looool
Will check them out, thanks ;)
Yes. Its called "promoted" deals. Well known trick in here. Deals from specific shops, while just average, goes boiling hot in minutes. Even ebuyer is banned right now AHC power tools banned most likely because usually they're cheaper than most of deals from "loved" companies in here. 100% positive feedback over 50000 transactions on expensive items.
Yes it will, but it's much better for the flexvolt batteries. If you read up on them, the 6.0ah ones are extremely unreliable. Most people agree that it's due to the 118 charger.
It’s a fast charger, a 6.0ah will take 2-3hr on a dcb115
The 115 will charge flexvolt. The 6.0ah is flexvolt anyway.
In this case here is a good price: Amazon link
Same here unless you spend £50
Why is this tool considered entry level?
Would say this is a bit more than entry level.
Great for the guys on the site as it blends in with the other MakPacs but if I were to take this to a family picnic in the park, people would think I'd lost the plot. I understand the humour behind this product being downvoted to cold but it's a good product nonetheless.
Icy cold for a cool box (y)
Heat (party) even though it should be cold if that makes sense !!!!!
Good strong bit of kit heat. To many dewalt votes tonight
I’m surprised they don’t do an 18v battery powered one which acts like a fridge. They do pretty much everything else!!!
Removing partition stud walls, cutting iron pipe, great for demolition or rip outs. Also handy for pipe fitting but have lots a of spare batteries around as it's a heavy power user.
As does the title.
Depends on where your using it but it's a very high power demand tool.. So if your just trimming a bush in your garden and you could use a power corded version then trust me the corded version is about 3 times as powerful. I dismantled a whole shed with the screwfix corded one for £40, went through hundreds of nails like butter. The battery one would of took all day.
What for? Quite different tools really, with generally different applications.
Yes, true that. For demolition work it's alright, as u don't need precision, just power. That's where I only used one too. I had to take a metal wall (Kingspan 'sandwich') down. Was alright for that, but an 9 inch grinder would've been probably better to control. But it needs an abrasive wheel course and hot works permit on sites, so I had to use the reciprocate saw.
apparently you can buy a coffee mug holder for your belt https://www.powertoolworld.co.uk/makita-p-72198-bc-steel-insulated-mug-with-loop
Not too sure, I think I'll spend A Few Dollars More ;)
A bargain for only a fistful of dollars.
Model no. GSB 18V-55
The Body only in case is still there powertoolworld.co.uk/bosch-gsb-18-v-60-c-brushless-combi-drill-body-only-in-l-boxx you can get it with 2x procore 4ah and a charger for a total of £187.80 which isn’t bad either
Probably only had one. You can't add Quidco 8% in tho the price. So it should state 199. Then you can write can get 8% Quidco (which is not guaranteed)
Already? Someone ordered a lot of them (skeptical)
Out of stock.
AUX In too for connecting to mobile
No dab no point
Yeah. Half the price of the DAB
Great price but Note this is not DAB
Half price on their website, cheapest elsewhere I could find is £67.99
Cheaper on Ebay Peeps and Free delivery ;)
It’s 29.99 at ITS not including VAT ;)
£29.99 at its tools
Good point. It’s free delivery if you spend over £50 try so a good deal if your going to spend another £15.06 or buy two of these (y)
Plus £4.95 delivery. £39.90 is the price. £36.95 delivered free at FFX.
Another thumbs up for PTW.
Don't worry... they're reputable. I've posted a few deals and ordered in the past.
Wake93, thanks for reply. I'm after DeWalt sds, planner, laser, screw gun etc because my site box on site got emptied recently.
I’ve ordered a lot of my Makita tools from then over the last couple years. I haven’t had any issues and all the stuff registers fine with Makita.
anyone dealt with powertoolword before. Their prices are suspiciously low.
Bought in end at £94.85 (y)
Down to £100 a few places
I've been looking at these for ages, picked up the GKS18V-LIN in February for £99 from Axminster tools but I believe this is a better deal as it was always significantly more expensive. Still a great bit of kit as are all my BP tools. Think you'll be lucky to get a better deal than this one to be honest. Maybe a refurb. I know what you mean about Makita being cheaper though.
Keeping my eyes peeled for price drop. Want one but for £80ish (y) Thinking should have gone for Makita eco system. Seem to be considerably cheaper than Bosch pro.
Think the g can attach to a particular guide rail.
There are titanium tipped accessories specifically intended for cutting metals but I believe it largely depends on how thick the metal is and how much you need to cut. Eg DeWALT Multi-Tool Titanium Metal Cut Blade DT20707. Majority don’t seem to get the best reviews from what I can see though.
Will it cut through steel plate?
VOTEPTW will get you £5 off if you spend over £100
£66 inc delivery https://www.dwtoolshop.com/power-tools/corded-power-tools/oscillating-multi-tools/makita-tm3000cx14-2-multi-tool-with-accessories-and-carry-case-240v?gclid=Cj0KCQjwn_LrBRD4ARIsAFEQFKueeJiunJfWXexMAAXa3RhtjbF_rUpYGECEEZNsOXFYQ1Rpuq1qBCkaAsjBEALw_wcB
I agree, but some people don't seemed bothered so posted the deal. LXT for me every time.
Sorry, got to vote cold. After extensive reading about G- versus LXT-range, comments were unanimous: go for Makita’s LXT-range everytime.
Odd, it works on my mobile. Not able to check on my pc.
Yes HUKD affiliate links is not working for some reason. This should work: https://www.powertoolworld.co.uk/makita-hp457dw-g-series-18v-combi-drill-inc-1x-1-5ah-battery Apologies if it's me, this is first time using mobile to submit deal (never again!!)
I know which is why i mentioned it in my op, I got 3 myself but majority of people on here dont have or cant get business account. It came back in stock after more than a month few days ago for normal accounts but like you said if you're not in rush its worth the wait imo
This website is a joke at times. I don't really post much on here as somebody generally beats me to it. Alot of the times mods end up deleting it and in this case the link doesnt work even though if i copy it from description it works perfectly fine
link doesnt work?
Good price for new from Amazon, though I’m pretty sure there’ll be a load of new on eBay shortly from the 5Ah package deal!
