The on-site restaurant serves up Czech and international cuisine prepared with locally sourced produce, while the hotel bar offers a range of refreshing drinks.

Groupon’s Guide To Prague

The capital city of the historic Bohemia region, Prague is one of the most popular destinations in Central Europe. Mirroring in the River Vltava, the city has been alluring visitors with numerous bridges, cathedrals, and gold-tipped towers for more than 10 centuries. Travellers can embrace the medieval charm of the city while strolling through the winding cobblestone alleyways with red slate rooftops and historic quarters of the Old Town, indulge in the panoramic views of the city from the 9th-century castle or catch a traditional puppet performance at the National Marionette Theatre. Various restaurants tempt the senses with hearty Czech cuisine and local beer, while the new town offers an array of high-fashion shops, clubs and entertainment options.

The weather in Prague varies according to the four seasons. Maximum temperatures during the warm summer season range between 22°C and 25°C, while during the winter months the temperatures drop to 1°C. Although summer brings the wettest time for the city, with more than 70mm of precipitations per month, the season witnesses more than seven hours of sunshine per day, making for a suitable weather for leisurely activities and exploring the city sights.

What's the location of the hotel like with regards to the main tourist areas please?
As an example - you can get 4 nights for 2 people (4/5 November Ex Manchester) for £216 for 2 people, that's over £40 cheaper. Just compare dates and prices before you book.

Transport i.e. bus/train/metro is super cheap around Prague!

Too far
Hotel is a little distance away from the Old Town centre but as per above comments, trams, metro etc are really cheap in Prague. We buy a 3 day public transport pass at the airport when we arrive, gives you unlimited travel on public transport - cost is about £12. But saying that, I never see anyone check for tickets etc on the trams/metro.

Agree it's very rare, I saw it twice when we went and it's an on the spot fine a local said about £60 in cash and if you can't pay it they call the police , more importantly remember to validate your ticket on the tram as they don't except an unvalidated ticket even though you have paid.
Anyway I would suggest four days as we just about got all the places visited, i would go again .

When I was there a drunk English tourist was getting spoken to about no ticket. He got a fine and threw it in the bin after. Actually this was Copenhagen remembered halfway through writing.

Why? Is travel stopping after we leave? I didn’t realize that borders are closing? :/
Prague is worth visiting at least once per lifetime. ;-)

Which London Airports? There are several and massively far apart. Avoid Prague at weekends is my advice. It's awash with very badly behaved British Stag Parties. Shame as it's a really beautiful and interesting City.
Can I buy for 3 people?

Why, what on earth do you think is going to happen, that they are going to close their borders to UK citizens? Strange comment!

Anyone thinking of going to Prague, I recommend watching Anthropoid or Operation Daybreak - its an extremely fascinating story and gives some great locations to visit (like the bullet-riddled crypt below the church where there was a long siege). Also the local town Lidice, which was completely demolished (buildings raized to the ground, lakes/streams filled in, cemeteries dug up, population executed) as a response to the Anthropoid mission. Its now an incredibly poignant memorial site, with a museum and gallery of art from children all over the world - it was the most emotionally stirring place I've ever visited.

Surely there aren't going to be many stag dos there in December!

Yup. fraid so. Don't know what they're 'celebrating' in the snow and ice ( wouldn't want to ask) but even in winter they're staggering about yelling and being generally obnoxious. I used to work with a Czech Agency. Was in Prague a lot.
Thanks for posting @suzy18 we have added this to today's Highlight section

I've booked to visit there in December, so I'll make sure I try to avoid them! As a Brit, there is nothing worse than being on holiday and seeing other British people making fools of themselves, making you realise why we have the reputation we do!

Spend as little time as possible there! Do the old town, bridge and castle as quickly as possible and move on to the real Prague. The main market is unbearably busy all day but there are lots of smaller local markets all over the city. Get out there and see the locals.

Terrible advice. I was checked twice in one day and saw checks numerous times while there for a week last time. My final check was as I was about to step off the bus at the airport on way home with about 20 minutes remaining on my ticket.

Weird comment. British stag dos tend to be in the summer months, especially when going to somewhere like Prague. But yeah, you seem to have an answer to everything on this post, so believe whatever you want!
Please don't come here, thanks

I would also add Hořící keř imdb.com/tit…44/ and Dukla 61 imdb.com/tit…38/. And maybe you won't visit Prague only.
