This looks like a pretty decent set up if you don't know much about VPN's and how to set them up.
Comes with one months free subscription and there is a discount code RIO33 to get 33% of a yearly sub. (ukproxyserver.com/ )
Port forwarding is a problem so best to check it out but this is geared towards the novice and you just plug n play.
In case of any difficulties, the helpdesk is very good at resolving these.
Also it's best to let them setup your account automatically rather then create one yourself.

Would be nice to hear from the cold voters , thx

Would anyone know if it is possible to use this with the tp-link m5350 mifi on the three 3g network please.

Not voted on this one because it seems like an ok deal for those who want an easy VPN solution...but to quote a review about their VPN service -

There are a number of specific details to mention and therefore with are going to quote from the official statement released by Liberty Shield. Their logs “include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type & version information, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track users movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. This data however will not be used to identify individual users…” While your exact activities are not tracked, the information listed here means that they store more info than most VPN providers.

Not sure, it does send out its own wifi but not mifi
Basically it sits in between your device and encrypts everything going to your router, you can still connect to your mifi or use the gadgets wifi.
No messing about configuring each device.
Obviously it's not the cheapest way of doing it but it's geared towards technophobes

If you can't or won't configure your router or PC for a VPN then I'd question whether or not you should be using one. I guess that if all you are doing is trying to watch a bit of dodgy telly from abroad then it's probably OK but if you are e.g. running a bittorrent client then you need to be careful because a VPN is not 100% foolproof or secure.

From what I read above, the in-built VPN service is not anonymous so I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

More than adequate as long as you aren't trying to hack and encrypt all evil Corp servers whilst at the same time hacking the hard copy backup storage centers heating system to destroy all the tape backups

£60 / year after the one month free trial expires, and I assume you're locked in to single provider.
Seems cold to me.

I hear what your saying and agree but this is really geared towards technophobes , it's not geared towards ppl running torrent bit clients lol
Unless someone can see a better option for the not so techy then I don't know why ppl are voting it cold.

You can connect to a USA vpn and access Netflix from there, but I don't know enough to say for certain. There are about 10 countries (inc USA ) you can connect to vpn there.

Cold. Costs a fortune after the free trial. Easier to just install private internet access vpn software on your device and only have to pay £30 a year.

Hotspot Shield is a great VPN. £32 for 24 months service and a much cheaper option than this Router. Once they start reducing their prices this Router could be a viable option.

Do they provide a proxy router as well?
All I could see is another vpn provider

people are voting cold because if you only need a vpn to view UK TV abroad etc. You just get a cheaper provider, and install a simple bit of software or set it up. Its not hard.
If you want a VPN which doesn't log you certainly don't use this service.

Interesting about hotspot shield, I'm coming up to end of contact soon with 100% no logging. At £20 pa. What's hotspots logging like.

Its ok I had a quick Google. I won't be using hotspotsheild either.

Hotspot shield is awful. I recommend PIA. (Private Internet Access)

Can't understand why they keep such detailed logs. Yeah, but I suppose useful if you really don't want to setup a VPN yourself.

Doubt it will manage much throughput unless they're not using any encryption, that's a low end mikrotik device.

Anyone else used privateinternetaccess.com?

So does the router become useless once the free one month expires?

Yeah. Have had them over 1 year but recently getting disconnected an awful lot. Help desk emails not great atm...the last advice was not applicable to me and I told them so, but then I get a follow up email asking me if they have solved my problem!

PS they were fine till recently.

Does it work fine with PureVPN's UK VPN service ?

Still with PIA. Up till having this problem I would normally give them the thumbs up but about 20 exchanges to get it sorted is not good. The staff were not reading the tickets IMO. A simple eg is when the previous ticket reply is from Peter at PIA and the next reply says "Hello Peter" you just know they are skimming. Some very silly replies but finally got there in the end.

would you reccomend them? looking for a vpn
