Synopsis
Acclaimed filmmaker Sam Mendes, the Academy Award®-winning director behind "American Beauty" and "Skyfall," focuses his lens on the Great War in "1917," which follows two young British soldiers, Lance Corporal Schofield (George MacKay) and Lance Corporal Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman), on a dangerous mission in enemy territory at the height of the conflict. Featuring cinematography from Academy Award® winner Roger Deakins ("Blade Runner 2049"), the World War I epic is directed by Mendes from a screenplay he co-wrote with Krysty Wilson-Cairns ("Penny Dreadful").

Not the best of films it has to be said

Sorry to hear it didn't work for you mate - movie watching is always a subjective experience. The general consensus though for the movie seems to be overwhelmingly positive.
1917 is fantastic, couldn't take my eyes off the screen - deserves all of it's successes. If you can catch it on the big screen, I'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

Heat added OP.

Chili really are trying to draw in customers. I doubt I'll buy anything but deals like this from them.
£8.99 for me
£8.99 for me as well?
Long term rental. I want either a DVD or BluRay to keep.

Worked mate cheers can’t wait to give 1917 a watch
Often the quality is poor even in HD, some movies can look like they're playing a bad betamax from the 80s

I couldn't until I went to checkout and used a promo I'd recently added.
50% off 3 purchases.
CHILI88 was possibly the code, not sure if it's still valid to add, worth a try.

The Smart TV Chili App isn't good but picture quality is perfect if you've got an Amazon Fire and download the Chili App.
I loved 1917 so much I saw it three times at the cinema.
OK but overhyped. All the clever editing of loads of takes gone in to make it look like a single take is good but the black screen halfway through spoilt the illusion and People refer to it as two takes. Also i thought the story let it down. Its not in my top 10
War movies. And neither is Dunkirk.

I cant wait to watch it again in the comfort of my own home with Atmos.
Fantastic film - go watch on the big screen if you can
Streamed this today not much of a story 👎🏻
1917 was a great film- recommend to everyone to see it on the biggest screen you can!

I can also understand some of the comments though. If you put aside the cleverness of its 1-take, there are numerous war films that are superior (Dunkirk the most recent).

Oddly I didn't like Dunkirk but I did 1917
Loved that running scene where he trips over soldiers. It was an accident which gave it such authenticity. For visual and sound affects, nothing will come close to Dunkirk. Christopher Nolan really mastered it.
Terrible movie, I only like Marvel, Star Wars, Transformers, and Fast & Furious. They’re all really thrilling and good!

1917 was boring!! No action and too slow. Wonder Woman is more realistic and engaging!

Indeed, man wanders around forest with gun for 2 hours...
Were you boys even alive in 1917?
Now that pretty much everyone has a 4k tv, hd movies should be made extinct. Also, anyone caught purchasing an sd movie should be castrated!!
It's 4K or nothing for me #standardsandallthat
Sunday afternoon film at best, so average I had to watch saving private Ryan the day after
Absolutely incredible film. Eyes glued to the screen every second, brilliant acting, directing, cinematography, score etc.
Give it all the awards, way better than Joker. 1917 and Knives Out are my two best film experiences of the last year.
