Yeah games that have done this include the likes of Murdered Soul Suspect etc. We will see!

That exact thought came to mind.

please learn from past mistakes people. dont preorder. theres no need. no stock is running out and you could be MASSIVELY burned. i have faith the game will be good but this preordering malarky needs to stop.

just wait for reviews then order. you may get it later than others but you could be saving yourself £30-40. (this goes for all games you purchase not just AI.

Would not mind saving £40 on this, will someone give it to me and £5.05

Really looking forward to this, but I think the damage has already been done with the previous game. and am I right in saying that it's one Alien. If so then it could be quite short!

Everyone who has actually played the pre release versions of this have said it's not very good. Think I will wait and see.

Aside from the fact that Sega are the publisher, you can't draw any parallels at all in that respect. While the alien is the main enemy, there are plenty of other things you have to do and fight.

But I personally wouldn't preorder either - why would you put money down on something that you don't know is any good or not? I'm not saying it won't be, but you'd have to be a fool, naive, optimistic or all three to do that in advance.

Twitter buzz amongst reviewers is really positive. I'd guess the price drop pre-release is retailer cold feet after CM/

Think this will drop in price fairly quick after release.

Not a lot of replay value in the game. (No multi player and short campaign)

Yeah it seems a lot of the latest games out drop significantly if it has no online features. Second Son comes to mind as that is amazing game (in my opinion) but because there are no online features I think that contributed to the price drop.

Yup, Tomb Raider as well.

This is the kind of game you rent for the week or pick up for £20 just before Christmas.

Fair comment, even if the games are good they still drop, Wolfenstein received great reviews but it has plummeted also.

I doubt it'll be down to £20 by Christmas... The only real game to drop that low so far for next gen is Thief... Murdered/Wolfenstein are usually around £25 still

not just those games that dropped significantly, also watch dogs is down to £20. This is one I think I'll wait for reviews, and a good price. Can't remember the last decent sega game. But that is still a good price for the pre-order regardless.

Be mindful that Sega are publishing this and what they did a year ago hyping up Rome II for advanced orders and then released a complete pile of crap. You've got to be an idiot or a gambler to order anything before release without testing it.

Oh and it's a game based on a film, how often has that worked out well?

And yes I am cynical to a fault.

The gaming section of metro website gave it a good write up in their preview a few weeks back and those guys are notoriously hard to please when reviewing games

I have a 10% off code, might just go for it.

Edit: appears to not work on preorders

I have too but think it excludes pre-orders. Lol I got it from buying Persona for the GameStop trade in.

Yeah just tried it and it didn't work pretty useless code then once there's nothing worth buying right now I doubt.

Yeah it's annoying min spend £5 max £100 so you can only get £10 off max. I was looking at Sleeping Dogs on PS4 else.

X-men Origins: Wolverine
Cap: Super Soldier (Current Gen Versions)
TMNT (GBA Version)
Spiderman 2 (argubly but pretty much on par with the film)
Constantine
Chronicles of Riddick
The Dark Knight Rises (mobile yeah I know but still great for a movie tie in)
Alien Trilogy (PSOne)
Die Hard Trilogy
Metal Gear Series..Oh wait thats originally a game right?

I think there have been a lot more decent film to game spinoffs than people like to give credit for.

doesn't mention if its the nostromo edition which includes the alien movie levels.

It's was playable last week at PAX. Non-press have played this. You don't know what you're talking about.

Definitely getting it, but not day 1. Maybe day 2.

This.

Agree with most of the "no need to preorder" comments on here but as a mahoosive fan of the film tbe preorder bonus of playing missions from the film might be too much too resist!

The level of detail in the game though strikes me as on par with TLOU...whether that transpires in to a decent game though remains to be seen.

It's damn annoying that the two things that really interest me about this title (Nostromo level and Ripley escape level) are preorder and Game retailer 'exclusives'. I don't see why I should risk another alien preorder after the garbage Colonial Marines so will pick this up nearer christmas when the price drops to £20.

If people stop stumping up cash for pre-order 'bait and switch' software maybe the games companies will actually put more effort into producing decent quality games.

Really enjoyed the demo at EGX rezzed. This game is kinda scary. Thanks OP.

Hyperbole don't get your hopes up tho!

Funny... all the previews I have read for it so far are glowingly positive. We had already heard how terrible Colonial Marines was shaping up by this stage prior to release, so I have very few doubts that this one will hit it's marks.

If in doubt, I trust Polygon as my benchmark for expectation.

I've played a level of it and it was an awesome experience. However, as much as I enjoyed the tension and fear the game induced, I'm still unsure about buying it. If it's like that all the way through, it's going to be a tough one to want to sit down and play.

worst case scenario. you trade it in for what you paid towards THE EVIL within the week after

Let's all pre-order a new Aliens game, published by SEGA guys! I mean, it's not like anything bad could happen, with the game ending up a massive disappointment... right?
