Yes, I know its pricey, especially for a re-release "definitive edition" but unfortunately that's the Switch tax and what Nintendo have done with a few games recently
It hurts a lot less paying this than the £54.99 Game are charging though
Still a fun game, espcially for Zelda fans out there, and portably should be a blast too
Hopefully this helps someone else out

A Switch release is a Wii-U port......mind.....blown

I'm very much hoping/expecting/predicting Super Smash Bros port from the Wii U (With all DLC) tomorrow in the Nintendo Direct
So...while it is infuriating, it also is wanted? At least, by me...for some of the games anyway
The Mario Kart 8 port is brilliant imo

Great price and loved this game but i won't be double dipping. Waiting for skyward sword, twilight princess and wind waker hd to be ported, maybe as a collection
In no universe will this be on sale for £55

I would love a switch version of Skyward Sword
I mean the graphics weren't bad but I'd like the option of updated controls
The Wii controls didn't appeal to me for Zelda titles
MAY RELEASE DATE!? It's out in Japan in a few weeks for heaven's sake. Ugh. I won't be paying more than £30 for this as I bought both versions and their SP's.

None of the ports justify the high price tag though. They should have been put at no more than £20 for what is essentially the exact same game with little done to them. I'd rather them have focused on releasing a new game, and a year into the Switchs life I don't really want to be seeing more ports like this and would rather a new game.

You say that
But what they are essentially doing is re-releasing an older title, adding features and small updates, but they're also including all of the DLC
I think about it this way (prices below made up from what I BELIEVE was the RRP for those games?)
>Hyrule Warriors for WiiU - £39.99
>Hyrule Warriors Season Pass for Wii U - £19.99
>Hyrule Warriors Season Pass for 3DS - £19.99
(As the switch version is supposed to include the season pass content for both versions of each game)
Meaning the RRP for this game is £54.99 and you'd get content that two years ago had the RRP of £80 or so, not to mention the extra work Nintendo put in to port for the Switch

I'd rather they spend a few years developing a really good game rather than rush one out just to get something released within the first year. Most 1st party Nintendo IPs only get one release per console cycle, so making a small team work on a port is actually a really good way to fill that gap while we wait and to extend the console's lifespan.

Don't think I'm denying it sucks to charge full price for an older game, but it could be a lot worse considering the value you're getting

Ports like this and Mario Kart 8, you get a lot more content than it would seem when just looking from the surface level
It's games like Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze that are less justifiable to me, as its just a straight up port with an additional 1 character (who looks rather unfun, easy, to play as)
It wasn't even worth buying at £40 on the Wii u to be honest !!!

Still doesnt change the fact they were those prices because they were a game developed from scratch, this is a port which requires minimal work, they will never launch at 20 due to the price of the carts or cards whatever you want to call them but for pretty much a straight port it should be 30 - 35 rrp at most..

That being said, i never had a wii u so havent played aby of them so essentially new games to me, but i can definitely understand why people who had the previous are put off, though i guess this is aimed at non wii u owners, given it wasnt the kost successful console there are a bunch of us, and people that really value the portable aspect.

Voted hot in any case as if this is the lowest price then!

The 3DS version had a season pass?

Yeah it had exclusive content not available on the Wii U variant, I can't remember all of it off hand, but I know you got Tetra as a playable character on the 3DS but not the WiiU variant

That comes down to Nintendo then, because they they could have been developing the games to release in the first year quite easily. Its lazy and a quick way to get easy money. It's a F U to any one loyal. Same as the virtual consoles. In this day and age it could be exactly that and you access it across Nintendo platforms but you would have to buy the game on each console to do that for what are really old games. If you're going to release ports either make them digital only and reduce price significantly or take a hit on the profit margine and reduce the cost of the cart version.

Prices you are quoting are including the higher release price to claw back all the development time of the game and money invested into them. All the content and material is there. It just requires porting it over (which I would imagine is easier for a native Nintendo game than third party) and maybe tweak some settings/graphics. Nothing that justifys the price, I love my Switch and I really enjoyed the game on the Wii U, and feel I would probably play it a bit more on the Switch but not at this price.
This will no doubt be available on Amazon for £39.99. When you think that you are getting a full HD remaster with upgraded graphics and sprites etc and £40 worth of DLC content included, it's definitely worth it. The base game alone was hours and hours of gameplay.

For reference, the Wii U version is still almost £35 brand new.

Yes, based on the Wii U release, but it's *very* different from Breath of the Wild.
