Due for release on the 6th of March. Good price, and it may actually be a good idea to pre-order, as following recent trends, it may be difficult to find a copy once it's released.

Mario Power Tennis is the second in the series of "New Play Control" titles and will see the much loved Mario Power Tennis from GameCube adapted to offer this great game with all-new controls on Wii. This new game will still allow you to choose from a range of characters from the Mario franchise, and you can then either play regular tennis or tennis-themed minigames. You will play through the Tournament Mode in both Singles and Doubles matches allowing you to unlock a variety of new characters, extra minigames and courts as well as a more challenging Star Tournament.

The new controls allows you to, perform different strokes by flicking the Wii Remote in the corresponding direction, utilising the motion sensitive controls for Wii. A player can now charge up his power shot gauge by waiting and hitting the ball back at the last possible moment. The game will now offer different levels of control types which increase in difficulty appealing to varied levels of gamers: Easy, Medium, Technical, and Difficult.

this probably wont be good if the wii control system for wii tennnis is … this probably wont be good if the wii control system for wii tennnis is anything to go by. Does anyone know if the gamecube controller will be an option?

Not sure, but the latest issue of Games TM comments about these new ranges of old Gamecube titles redesigned for the Wii Remote, Pikmin being of particular interest, I think that will adapt really well.

should be a tenner really for regurgitated gamecube games

Even worse with these or this release as they are just the gamecube game/s with different control mechanism going by the box it appears it is going to be a continued trend as well going by what it says on the bottom of that case.

Absolutely thats why i said would be better if they would have a patch downloadable to play the original GC ones with the wii controller, but they will fleece the general public instead.

About the only nice advantage (although if you had a modded GC you could have) is that these titles will be in 480P

It doesn't say wifi enabled on the box front and I can't find it in the burb. So yet another Wii game without online support? :whistling:

Wasted opportunity if thats the case....oh and more shovelware from them, they are to release Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (wheres the fun without using the bongos)

Give us some games Nintendo, I am all for recycling, but only in environmental terms.

Bit of a cheek for Nintendo to have such a high rrp for the minimal update to this. Third partys tend to price these awful word, but 'Wiimakes' as such.

It'll be a fair while yet, but EA Sports have a proper tennis game in the works for the as yet unreleased motion plus addon.

The motion plus addon is about the only exciting thing Nintendo have up their sleeve this year, there again I wonder how much it will cost when bundles with Wii Spors Resort this summer, and then again no doubt stock shortages!
