Not really a deal as its only RRP. Not a bad price but not a deal

If you already have a TV i recommend getting a Shield TV Console/Android/PC as it contains much more power

I know, I wasn't sure if it was worth posting but even at the RRP it looks like a good deal to me and would probably be my recommendation for a tablet at this price.

Absolutely. Possibly the best tablet for £150
What are the specs, doesn't say much from the link
Glorified Android box designed by Nvidia so they had somewhere to put Tegra chips that nobody wants to buy.

Nvidia did promise many titles to play over broadband kinda like PS3 play but hardly any materialized. This is good only for streaming locally which can be done at a much lower cost with Steams link if you like playing games in other rooms. Only if you want to stream on a tablet might this be good for you.

No thanks
Thanks for this

good solid tablet I've had one for over 12 months the games are good and the streaming works well(from desktop to tablet and from nvidia grid service but you now have to pay for the latter) the battery life isn't great if I'm honest but for the price it's good value.
if you get one turn off the WiFi whilst idle feature in the settings.

When it gets Marshmallow the battery should last a lot longer while idle with the new doze feature.
Beats the iPad Air 1 in almost every benchmark and half the price, what's not to like.
Why are they still using A15s for a new tablet?

Why not use Denver like the Nexus 9.

Don't be taken in with the nvidia hype.

Terrible build quality

Terrible WiFi

Buggy updates

Nvidia are hell bent on ruining gfe and gamestream.

Only buy if you like spending hours finding fixes and workarounds.

This isn't a deal it's rrp
It's back George.

The best tablet of all time.
coincidently I just finished reading the review at trusted reviews when I saw this post

scored 9/10
It's only $199/£130 in USA so not a very good price. And given tendency of last batch to burst into flames I won't be buying this.
This or the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 for 50 quid more?

$199 does not include sales tax in the US or your flights to go and buy it there. The US sales tax is normally lower but if you took VAT of the UK price it would actually be cheaper than in the USA.

I would go for the tab s or any tab maker other than nvidia. I bought mine on launch and there were massive complaints with cracks forming on the case and then my replacement had horrible light bleed and both had insane issues wifi.

They update their gadgets much quicker than Samsung.
I would go for this if you're into gaming.

Marshmallow quite soon: Update info

That doesn't really help much. Also the Tegra processor is much more power hungry than Snapdragon processors so don't expect good battery out of nvidia tablets

bleeding anus? on all or just some, not really looked into it to know, and expandable storage not really bothered about, I stream, dont need much storage

It's a re-release after the entire first batch was recalled for exploding battery risk. I'd return that first one if I were you.
Tegra K1. Shield has the X1. 2K v 4K I guess. If they put the X1 in this tablet, it would have been a monster. Still a fantastic tablet for the price.

Awful tablet
looks decent to me
it's a great tablet for the price, quad core 2.2 3gb ram, the nexus 9 is a dual core 64bit 2gb my son has one of these, theres nowt else out there for that spec/price for the nvidia shield, not mentioning HDMI, USB 3, etc

Yes the 16Gb version can be got on a deal at the similar price but with no expandable memory which is why I personally wouldn't recommend it, 32GB should be the minimum these days.
Wanted a tablet with hdmi. My hudl really struggles with kodi streaming a lot of the time.
This is really a cheaper version of last year Nvidia shield tablet - same specs minus stylus, minus charger, only 16GB and no 4G version in pipeline.
For the price it is tempting but I truly believe that before Christmas we will see Shield X1 for same price as last year's version. It almost look like that by adding K1 in the name of the tablet Nvidia prepares the space for the family of devices:
Budget - Nvidia Shield tablet k1 - £150;
Premium - Nvidia Shield tablet x1 - £300-350;
Tweaked version of last years shield. http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2015/11/nvidia-shield-tablet-k1-mini-review-still-the-best-small-android-tablet-around/

Bought a 32gb one in last years Black Friday deals. Fairly solid tablet all round, on/off button poor, stylus mediocre, battery life is disappointing, especially if you hope to do a lot of gaming. I ended up buying this amazon.co.uk/Ank…pro currently very good price.

Accessories for the tablet are brilliant, both cover and controller is very good.

Awful tablet

hahaha
Don't listen to the fan boys the tablet is crap.

The battery recall was the best thing that happened when I owned a shield. Sold the recall the day I received it.

If you want to stream pc games there lots of easy ways now.

Don't be taken in with the hype
I just looked at nvidia website and its £150 for NVIDIA® Tegra® X1 processor with a 256-core GPU and 3 GB RAM, not k1 hardware

for me 16gb is enough, everything I do is on the cloud, spotify, and kodi, and when im away from home i dont take tablet so dont need storage, and i think the target market is the same, although its shame they dont add it to make devices 10£, or to make extra 30£+ for higher gb version which makes 1000 people not buy

Where? nvidia.co.uk only leads me to shield.nvidia.co.uk/tab…/k1
This has a poor processor. Cortex A15 is old, Cortex A57 is the current high-end and Cortex A72 is just coming out. Those provide much better performance. Nvidia is just trying to get rid of unsold chips by launching a new model with old chips. Their X1 chip uses cortex a57 cpu cores and is in the nexus 9 tablet. That is much faster and will likely give you better battery life. No micro SD card slot in the nexus 9 though. The successor to Cortex A72 will likely be announced soon btw and probably be in chips next summer using 14nm/16nm.
