Lowest pre-order so far, you'll likely know if you're reading this, but the release date is due for 7th April 2018 - Also £2.90 worth of player points if you are a collector. I honestly didn't expect something like this when I heard about the announcement, although I think it looks pretty cool, kids will love it for sure.

The Labo Robo Kit is £67.99 + £3.40 back in points too
I know you can get if for less if collecting elsewhere in store, but this could work out better for anyone without a local (Like me in the sticks)

Yeah I think this may be the first consumable video game accessory
So it is really happening then. Thought I just dreamed about this cardboard crap in bed last night.
Im trying my best to ignore that this is going on.
I don't understand. C.£60 for a cardboard video game console enclosure kit. Why the f would anyone want this? Kids
included.
It's not even April 1st.

I’ve just bought a Domino’s buy one get one free. I’ve had Pizza and also had early access to this game.
I know it's made out of cardboard but I think it looks amazing. It makes a change from my son sitting and pressing a few buttons.

I think you have missed the point.

It's a collection of mini games where you build the required accessory. For example you build a piano that you can then play, it's not just an enclosure.

The schematics are also going to be online for you to make your own or customise.

You obviously didn't watch the video with this but he has to make alot of it before using it. But yep you are correct , he might have to stand while making it.
It's cardboard!!!
I think a lot of people are writing this off before actually taking a good look at it. Looks like a very, very inventive bit of fun with lots of creativity thrown in. Will I buy it? No chance, my kids would destroy it in seconds. Still, a bold step. It's getting mocked right now but come back next year and see what the story is. A buck gets ten it will be most popular with adults as opposed to kids.

Didnt miss a thing - its £60 for a "game" - that should be £25-£30 and the cardboard thrown in free and that's still too expensive! Nintendo are the Apple of the video game industry. I hope someone jailbreaks this machine ASAP...

I would of preferred they made it out of wood rather than carboard.

I've just heard from a reliable source that Nintendo Switch is about to get a mod chip hard install solder version and a software version... copied games.... with the price of games having no sense, reminded of my first playstation and resident evil 😋 like no physical of sonic mania, no physical copy of resident evil in EU (£16) download, buy an import for £45, rediculous?👹
Just go to asda and get their old cardboard boxes. What a load of tat

Absolutely bang on - remember wii fit? Catchy contraption that helped propagate the Wii sales. They've smashed it with their sales apparently globally for this machine - its the kids that I'm worried about getting their hands on it - will be shredded to a pulp before the cartridge goes in and then I'll be using standard paper and superglue to replicate it and then the machine will fall out and be smashed to bits with paper permanently stuck to it from the superglue and Nintendo's sales will sky rocket around the world because I'll have to go buy another one and so will millions of other parents...

The idea of a £250 piece of kit sitting inside a piece of cardboard is crazy. There will be no piano playing in this house.

I say lets beat the Chinese at counterfeiting! Lets start selling our own contraptions with 2nd hand gameboy cartridges bought off ebay before we get rumbled!
Fantastic idea, can't see it lasting too long though unfortunately, but at £60 I won't be getting 1 to find out.

I didn't say you missed anything, I was talking to Skinrush...

You haven't even seen or played the game, how do you know what it should be worth? The game is just the standard RRP and you pay a little extra for the stuff that comes with it.

Hoping for piracy is just a childish thing and is what kills the game industry.

Just like Apple products, no one is forcing you to buy it but millions of people disagree with you.

Also you gotta love people that Like their own comments.

Seen the price and the videos of what you're getting - simply a cheap parlour trick that looks good but wont last the test of time in both playability and durability due to the material of the device. If you cant see that then you're exactly market Nintendo are aiming this for. You can actually buy a real fishing gear and piano cheaper (no ttalking grand piano genius) than the machine and game!

There's actually an article by a developer stating the price Nintendo charge for cartridges is based on memory size and its this draconian behavior that suffocates the game market; that and loot boxes and DLC out on day 1 of release Last I checked the gaming industry has grown incredibly every year and piracy has been around since day 1 of video games thus your argument of killing the game industry is complete and utter $£%^ or politely put - dead in the water. The industry has grown stronger and more profitable because of over pricing, multiple editions for the same game, crap like this.

Lets not get into an Apple debate right now! All they need to do is replace the notch for 1 of Donald Trumps hair dos on top!

Higher capacity cards cost more for Nintendo to make, why wouldn't they pass this onto the developers? The developers are coming in waves so clearly they are making plenty of money. Many indie developers are reporting better profits on the Switch than any other platform.

I get it, you don't like Nintendo, but no one is forcing you to buy their products. Kids get all sorts of toys every year at this price point and far more.

Memory cards dont cost much today bud - When you put this "tax" on developers who are going to want to maximize their profit margin and delivering a game or a remake requires getting a larger card, most bosses/big brands are going to say no thanks and cut corners on new games and remakes are going to have content removed if a few more gigs are needed. Its already happened so those costs you're talking about on making memory cart sizes dont really exist on the same scale as the price difference in buying them.

Been using Nintendo products since Game & Watch days, owned every single product they've made - its not about not liking their products but identifying the greed at their prices for the novelty effect products they release and saying come on - that's too high.

The same annoyance with their e-store prices compared to the cartridges is frustrating hence why there are spreadsheets online showing how varied the prices are across the world.
