I've just received an email from oneplus for their keynote for the new upcoming smartphone oneplus 5T and right at the bottom it says

'Excited as we are? Pre-order when the keynote ends only through O2, our exclusive UK partner who are also offering 12 months free of Xbox Live Gold if you pre-order the 5T today until December 6th'

No idea what the cost of the phone is but nice incentive for pre ordering with O2

So a niche phone company offers a free 12 month subscription to the worst …So a niche phone company offers a free 12 month subscription to the worst selling console seller. Yup this is not for me. Which reminds me, I need to sell my OnePlus 5 lol

Firstly, One Plus is an incredible phone for the price.

Second of all, Xbox One X week 1 sales was 80,000... PS4 Pro's was 50,000.

This seems like a rather random combination of offers.

Haha Xbox fan boy here, how unfortunate that is for him.

I don't think I'm going to go with oneplus again, I have the oneplus 5 but now it is outdated.

Totally agree. What use is the freebie to me when I don't even have an Xbox. Nice incentive but only really target's and benefits those with an Xbox ....

I felt that way with the 3 when the 3T came out. It's not been an issue as One Plus didn't dump the 3 and brought out as many updates, (at the same time,) as the 3T. Even with the 5, OP have still kept up with updates.

The last time I checked the Xbox One was outselling the 360 at the same point of it's lifespan, which was a console which sold extremely well. Just because Sony is absolutely sweeping the generation so far doesn't mean Microsoft isn't also doing very well.

Not sure how these two compliment each other, unless there is something in the keynote later, but I'll happily take it, assuming O2 and One Plus prices are aligned.

In-store or online?

In-store or online?

Not sure orient probably both

I think O2s oneplus "exclusivity" is a complete ripoff and would never buy one through them. I mean i click to buy and it says O2 offers from £40 a month - WTF???? how expensive. Over 24 months that's £960 plus £10 upfront for only 4gb. You can get an S8 for £800 over 24 months - are you telling me the 1+ 5 is worth £170 more? AND i suspect the 5T will be more expensive too.

however it is a deal for THIS phone not a comparison so not voted either way until i see the price

Usually O2 are 20 odd quid more expensive that the oneplus site for sim free but personally I would pay this to have an actual shop to take it back to should there be any problems. Even better if you get student discount on it

So no longer able to buy it 'off line' then?

This reminds me of the apple launch 10 yrs ago

Will this be for PAYG also?

PS4 Pro is one year old. So 50,000 doesn’t look to bad.

£449 PAYG ... thats a steal!

and £499 for 128gb

Where is is listed as £449 on O2? It will never be this price.

Best to take it direct to get the best price of £449. Why to pay the same price for PAYG and then pay unlocking charges?

I bought my 3T from O2 and it came unlocked. Updates have been better than other phones I have and it has great support from the community. However, like every other manufacturer lately they have been getting greedy with their pricing they're not such great value as the first 1+1 was in its day.

The only way to order it in the UK at the minute is through O2.

You still get it after 22nd Nov anyway and thats the same date the phones will be delivered if you order from OnePlus direct, so no point in ordering it in advance

Looks a great phone at a great price but no IP rating...deal breaker for me. Voted hot tho.

Other than Quidco, UK support and an already factory unlocked and unbranded phone...
I'll pre-order with O2.

Oh, and get a 12 month XBOX Live code which I'll sell for £20+

Anyone managed to pre-order?

Mine won't go through, tried two different cards.

You don't buy a bundle with it. You'll get an empty SIM that defaults to the chosen tariff when you top it up.

Also the phone won't be locked so you won't pay unlocking charges. It will be no different than buying it direct, except that you get 12 months Xbox live for free.

1 or 2 years warranty from o2? thanks

Is it just me that thinks this needs to be cheaper? £449 isn't a huge distance away from the S8 which had a better screen and isn't 1080p.

This is as a Oneplus 3t owner...

Youre comparing a brand new phone with one that’s been out a few months. Do agree that the S8 is the better buy.

This is just an FYI

tl;dr oneplus are shipping phones with a backdoor, allowing root access.

Yeah but the s8 will slow down after a couple months. My 3 is still blazing fast with no lag in fairness to OP

Watched the live reveal... watched some reviews... ordered from O2 for use with my current THREE sim.

Not sure what difference the age of the phone has on what price Oneplus should launch a new phone at? Oneplus are launching into the market at near today's S8 prices. It's almost irrelevant how long the S8 has been out, especially when most of the spec is largely comparable.

I'm not suggesting that Oneplus aren't going to sell any; this thread alone will confirm that isn't the case.
