Gameplay: PES 2010 focuses on enhancing the excitement of matches between players, making for a truly challenging experience that will constantly test the player. Intuitive zonal defending will cover spaces and players need to look constantly for new ways to attack.
Improved Visuals: PES 2010 has undergone a major visual revamp, with its celebrated player likenesses and animations now even closer to those of real-life players - including live player expressions to be depicted with an improved lighting system which differentiates between various conditions!
All-new Animation and Moves: Animations now dovetail into each other seamlessly, with dribbling and shots on goals worked into dribbling animations. More individual skills are also on show, including new flicks and tricks that have a definite showing on the way a game flows.
Match-Day Atmosphere: Crowd reactions to the on-field action are now more varied, with all new chants and cheers. The subtle difference between Home and Away matches will be reproduced, and the crowd will react spontaneously to specific situations in a game, showing their disdain or pleasure as fouls are committed and goals scored.
AI: The Tokyo team has worked to improve the AI of the game, with Teamvision 2.0 implemented. Midfielders and defenders now work together to cover open space and close down attacks, meaning that cover can be provided for lower-ranked defenders. This also has the additional effect of removing soft goals, thus returning PES 2010 to its simulation roots.
Individual Play Characteristics: In previous PES games, the team formation has determined the movements of the players. PES 2010 introduces a new system wherein the individual attacking and defending nature of the players is integral to the way they play.

Voted hot, any idea if they are keeping this price all the way to the 23rd of October? Just waiting for supermarket prices now, no doubt they will hold off until the last minute like they did with FIFA. I reckon at least one will do a £25 deal

I bought pes 09 for £25 a few days after release and after seeing Fifa 10 for that same price on release I would expect the same.

Many believe pes has to prove itself this year so it would be suprising if they didn't do a deal.

Roll on the 23rd

Have played the demo and loved it, much improved over pes2009 ...most important thing (for me) is that they sort out online (i have no friends!! lol)

if that is sorted out then pes2010 promises to be a gr8 game...

thanks OP

but like others have mentioned... i reckon it will prob drop to £20-£25 mark closerto release..

Konami know they have to win people back so I suspect big discount from the off!

MM

Have always been a Pro Evo man up until I played both demo's of FIFA and Pro, I didn't like Pro's demo compared to FIFA and didn't read any reviews of either. I finally went for FIFA the other day and love it, even though I'm still ashamed to say it! Will see if the price, which I think will, drop to £25 and might have to get it as well. Hot deal from me as it's prob the cheapest price around at the moment.

What did you like about the demo? I thought it was so sluggish and robotish(if thats a word lol), I am normally a PES fanboy but ever since its jumped to PS3, its been very average.

This years FIFA has set the benchmark and considering past experiences and the demo this should be £20 to tempt people.

Cheers op

Pales in comparison to Fifa.

I'll never buy PES again.

the main reason is that i like the slower pace of the game, pes2009 was/is far to quick..also the really good players were to good and could not be stopped easily.

But i still liked pes2009 biggest problem was/is the very laggy online experience..

But this is still the best price for preoder so voted HOT,.. although i do think that th eprices will be lower closer to release ..

Have been a Pro Evo fan all my life but this time the war is lost. Fifa smashes Pro Evo to pieces this year. Best price around so hot, but the game itself is nothing to write home about...

Dont forget the £3 of £5 voucher if you buy something else.

Looks good this year, played the WE2010 demo which is a later build and all the sluggish-ness in the PES2010 demo is gone. Shouldn't judge either fifa or pes on the early build demos alone as they always end up different to the final version.

Waiting for supermarkets, as got PES2009 for £26 last year from asda. Hoping to do the same again!

Pes always seems to seel for around £30 online and supermarjkets will probably undercut that, especially as Asda seem to be into loss leaders as a marketing weapon at the moment. Still, hot at time of writing I guess.

Can't wait!

Lets hope its better than last years offering, if Fifa is anything to go by then surely this will come down to £25 in the big supermarkets

Why Release 2 Weeks After Fifa 10? Dont Get It.

Giant fanboyism.

The game isn't even out yet and demos never justify reviews!

Pro evo has been weak the last few years but if someone would have told you that fifa would be as good as it is 3 years ago you probably wouldn't have beleived them.

I'll be surprised if the supermarkets do have a price war over PES.
I don't think it has enough 'hype' this year(as fifa is 'the game' this time), but we will find out on release day.

my thoughts exactly, before this was fine becuase pes whooped fifa every year but now pro even is on the back foot and been going backwards!

we cant judge this game yet becuase its not even been released yet and so to do so before anyone has properly played it would be foolish, i dont like fifa at all i though last years was to slow and the players dont move naturaly, i loved pro evo before it came onto the ps3 and just want this years to be good.

might be an idea to rent it first from blockbuster......now lemme find a free rental voucher or summat lol, the true HUK'D way.

guardian.co.uk/tec…es5 It's got a decent review/write up from the guardian, seems both games are looking good this year, might get both!

"But after a weekend playing PES 2010 it has quickly became obvious that on the pitch – ultimately where it matters most, of course – PES simply plays the more satisfying and entertaining game of football."

"I ended my FIFA 10 review by saying PES had it all to do. Well, after a weekend with PES 2010 I'm very confident it has succeeded. Sorry to have doubted you old friend."

I prefered the PES demo over Fifa as it felt more fluid. I ended up purchasing Fifa 10 as it was at a reasonable price last weekend, since purchasing however I've come to hate it.

EA have yet to convinvce me they can make games, and FIfa 10 enforces that. Constantly the AI in game is abysmal. Players runnning (or not) in directions not intended, huddling is another common practice, not a problem with tactics or formations just players becoming confused or delayed.

The most annoying thing is players either not kicking the ball when wanted, or most often kicking/passing in a completely different direction, and I mean know where near the intended direction. I at first thought my controller was broke, its not iths EAs coding (infact its not broke as that would imply that it was working in the first place).

Any idea when, if at all we will know about Pro Evo release pricing in the supermarkets?

Would be extremely annoyed with myself if I took a chance on the supermarkets for nothing to transpire.

I've heard that certain stores are having a midnight release so i guess certain retailers believe its going to be popular.

As for people saying the demo was sluggish -

I found it played much better if you set your team to 'attack minded' and selected the 'auto form change'

First review is in and doesnt look good!

Total Video Games - 7/10

It's hard to imagine why gamers would opt for PES over FIFA this year unless they are such stubborn fans of the series that they'll never let go. FIFA betters Konami's offerings more or less across the board this time around, while PES' continued lack of substantial gameplay innovations (even without any comparisons to FIFA) is becoming quite worrying to say the least.

You can't really judge a football game from a review, It just depends on your preferences really.

I was tempted by Fifa this year due to the animations and how the players interact with each other when fighting for possesion but at the end of the day I'd rather play my mates at pes as its just more fun (imo)

Also I prefer the look of pes, The players in Fifa look a bit wacky to me

Theres no denying that i'm basically buying a game that is 6 years old though, not sure why Konami still haven't updated there engine!

My Pro Evo arrived 2 days early and not a fan of it yet......
