Portal 2 draws from the award-winning formula of innovative gameplay, story, and music that earned the original Portal over 70 industry accolades and created a cult following.

The single-player portion of Portal 2 introduces a cast of dynamic new characters, a host of fresh puzzle elements, and a much larger set of devious test chambers. Players will explore never-before-seen areas of the Aperture Science Labs and be reunited with GLaDOS, the occasionally murderous computer companion who guided them through the original game.

The game’s two-player cooperative mode features its own entirely separate campaign with a unique story, test chambers, and two new player characters. This new mode forces players to reconsider everything they thought they knew about portals. Success will require them to not just act cooperatively, but to think cooperatively.

Features:

* Extensive single player game featuring next generation gameplay and a wildly-engrossing story.
* Complete two-person co-operative multiplayer game featuring its own dedicated story, characters, and gameplay.
* Advanced use of physics allow for the creation of a whole new range of interesting challenges, producing a much larger but not harder game.
* Original music.
* A massive sequel to the title named 2007's Game of the Year by over 30 publications worldwide.

Such a rip off releasing this as a full game

You need to change your title amibees as it says Portal, but the deal is for Portal 2.

PS3 version comes with a free Steam copy for PC/Mac.

I disagree to be honest. Groundbreakingly unique game (the Portal games) and its not like its retailing at 50 quid like some new releases do. Maybe itll come down more shortly after release, but if this is the best price just now, its hot

Nice one cancelled my steam pre-order and now ordering this for the PS3 with steam copy included.

And yeah it's hardly a rip off it's a full game.

agreed. whilst it may be a full game it was released ( 1st portal ) with the orange box and yeah its not retailing at £40 plus but still shouldnt be this much.

still cheapest so voting hot

Loved Portal, so really looking forward to Portal 2. May wait till the price drop though after release. But voting Hot!

Do your research first.

The first Portal was a small, experimental game. Portal 2 is a fully fleshed-out sequel.

I totally disagree too. Just because you got a game packed in for 'free' last time has no bearing on the case.

They have totally brought the basic concept and brought it into a new level. Whilst I could argue the RRP price shouldn't be £40 (Edit: Wow even RRP £50) but near £30, I think we are getting value for money.

Loved the first one and really made it my favourite game in the Orange Box pack.

I'd get it on PC.

Yea, what sits said. This one has been a few years in the making and is … Yea, what sits said. This one has been a few years in the making and is obviously in a different league to the first. They had Stephen Merchant doing the voice of the robot that helps you, although I think they've replaced him now.Funny thing is, people lap up games like COD even though they are pushed out year after year without updating any visuals and then people can't see the logic in paying £32.85 for a game made by arguably the best developers on the planet, Valve.

I thought Merchant was the replacement voice over? It was slightly controversial as the original temp they used sounded brilliant!
They should give players the option to choose, rather like a DVD or Blu-ray.

People must be barmy, this game fully justifies a full price rrp. and looks like one of the best of the year.
I will be getting it on PC

Why are you not GLaD?

Was hoping for a surprise announcement that included episode 3. Oh well.

PS3 version comes with a free Steam copy for PC/Mac.

Anybody knows how this will work? If the Steam copy is a key in the box then I'll buy it. Anything more complicated I'll pass.

EDIT: I looked it up. you get a free Steam copy of the game "by linking their PSN and Steam accounts"
Do you need a PS3 to create a PSN account!? (answer: probably)

You link your PSN account with Steam and voila, free PC copy

Hopefully Shopto will price match soon. I hate ordering from Zavvi. Wouldn't trust them to get a game to me on release date.

Can I link my PS3 account with a friend's Steam account? (Just wondering how the linkage works. Can this be done today?)

The fail is strong in this one. This is a full game, with storyline and multiple game modes. Not just a game you can complete in an hour like the first one.

Each of the 2 campaigns (single player/Co-op) will be about twice the size of the original. Also, its a puzzle game; story will be minimal and/or crap. I'd pay a tenner for it;)

In the first Portal the name of the AI which challenged you was GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating system)

Ah right, I've played that one right through but didn't remember that

good spot, on PC steam its currently 10% off working out at £26.99 (or two copies for £47.98)

Portal (I played the 'Still Alive' 360 version with the additional 'challenge levels') is one of my favourite games of the past few years. I've got more enjoyment out of it than most full price games I've played in that period.

Let's not forget the best game ending ever: [SPOILER] youtube.com/wat…kLs

Thanks to the OP and Souljacker

As much as I loved Portal, I just dont see it having lasting appeal as a full release, it was great fun in small bite size pieces. I hope to be proven wrong, but I will withhold judgement and wait on some reviews and opinions when it comes out. About average price I would say for its release.

Thanks very much for that code Souljacker! and thanks to the original poster for posting the deal. The free steam copy for the PS3 version sold it for me! Now that PS3 is getting Steam please Valve bring over TF2!

Yup when I get a dual copy for a few £ more than Valve who sell their own games for more than most retailers.
