Wow, that's cheap :-D

Editor

Thanks bingsy Cheapest elsewhere is £ 38.89, so this is the best price around!

Are they not making a new episode of this? So this will no longer be the complete collection.

I don't think so, The Hut has it for £38.93 and Sendit has it for £38.89

nice price!! If i had the spare cash, i'd get it!!

Wow! The US 'complete' version is retailing for over £100 at Amazon.com! Finally we get a better price!

That said does this include the extras? How many discs does it come with?

Not necessarily. It might be as low as 8 or 10. The "Just the Shows" boxsets managed to get most series on one DVD each. I only have Just the Shows 1-4, and they are one disc each, although apparently (from Amazon synopsis) the box set for series 5-8 is 6 discs. All they say is that it features every episode, so it sounds like the two "Just the Shows" boxsets in one box.

I think that it must be a misprice because the "Just The Shows" box sets are the same price:

Volume 1 is £34.99:
whsmith.co.uk/Cat…tml

Volume 2 is £34.99
whsmith.co.uk/Cat…tml

So to buy both box sets separately you would be spending £69.98 whereas you can preorder this and get it for half of the price - heat and rep added!

I can't see Tesco shifting many units!?!

"Available from Tesco Extra - RRP £49.99 Price: £99.97"

D'oh!?!

bear in mind these dont have the extras but very good price

Nice find Bingsy - that's a bargain in my book

Good find, pre-ordered!

Not likely, "status ended" on tv.com but I suppose it's possible....they've brought other shows back from the dead but if they do then you know it'll be no good....they were on about making a film for it many years ago but that ain't gonna happen either....they seem to have lost interest.

In that case this is an ok deal but not great when you consider that tesco are selling the 2-Disc versions at £6 per season and Virgin are selling them for £7 each but with a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer (instore only) which works out at the same price as this set!

Even if you get them from Tesco I think the extras are well worth the extra £15 (if you buy all 8 seasons) as they are the most jam packed I have ever seen and are actually worth watching. They include extra epsiodes (that were never released), bloopers, deleted scenes, episode commentaries and tons of other stuff.

We don't know whether the extras are in or not, there's no detials given.

It may be the same set as has been available in the US for 2 years with 18 discs or it may be a brand new set, the only info I can find is at ]Zavvi where the decription just says

The description says "Limited edition collection featuring every episode of the classic sci-fi comedy.".

So chances are it contains only what it says - every episode. I bet most fans by now have the set of individual series or the "just the shows" editions. Now they want to make more out of it, and need to sell off any new DVDs relatively cheap, to get access to new markets: fans that could not afford to buy in the past, or non-fans that think it is a good price and buy it. So they will offer a cut down package they can sell relatively cheap, without the expense of extra discs for extras.

What a bargain. Frankly couldn't care less if it doesn't have extras etc. Don't care if it comes in a cardboard box, every red dwarf for £32. AMAZING

Thank you

Site appears to be down. Due to this?

I have all of the red dwarfs on seperate dvd's with all of the limited edition stuff available for these (corgi skutters etc...)

Whats so limited about this, other than the price!!!

Doesn't really give much detail on the sites.

I just bought all 8 series from Tesco at £6 each - I could've saved myself £13.

can someone answer me this question, (a red dwarf fan more than likely),

was the last epidode the one where they rimmer walked through a mirror and tried to find the answer to some disease? only to come back to "reality" and eveyone was gone? and he only had seconds before the ship blew up?

if so, then why no more episodes?????

And the even better thing about the Tesco deal is that you can choose not to buy the eye-stabbing wrist-slitting horror that is seasons 7 and 8.

New episodes HAVE been confirmed, well, at least one more hour special, with a view to a new series if it goes well

Paradox maybe, back to the beginning and so it starts all over again

from imdb.com

"A escape pod containing a "Microbe" a genetically-engineered virus that eats metal and programmed not to harm glass has arrived on-board "Red Dwarf" and begins to eat away Red Dwarf. Left on-board "Red Dwarf" to die, Rimmer, Lister, Cat, Kryten, Kochanski and Holly find their own chance at finding a antidote is in a mirror universe where everything is opposite, and Rimmer is sent into the Mirror universe to find the antidote before Red Dwarf is destroyed along with Lister, Kryten, Cat and Holly"

So does anyone have a definative answer yet as to what this new box set actually is?

I'm not interested in the 'Just The Shows' versions, I want all the extras the you get in the extended editions... cos i'm a big Red Dwarf geek lol

They have canceled my order, dicks
