£23 quid cheaper than they have the 4gb 570 on pre-order for

amazon.co.uk/Sap…VDZ

I'm totally sure this won't get cancelled at all due to "stock" issues...
This is the same card that was £102.50 the other day isn't it? I had it on back order since August
pretty good, but still not as good as the SAPPHIRE Pulse Radeon RX 580 8G for £102 they had the other day. About the same chance of getting it either way. Pre-ordered anyway.

Still don't fully understand why these cards are in such short supply even now though? I know miners have been buying them up but why don't the manufacturers up production to match? Can't be all that hard to produce since they are essentially rebadged RX480s. Seems stupid to me when they are in the business of selling them, yet they seem to have no interest in producing more of what is obviously an extremely popular and in demand item, they must be leaving tonnes of money on the table for eBay / Amazon resellers.

Come to think of it, they should go work at Nintendo (NES Mini fiasco)....

I must've happened to order both by accident then. I couldn't see easily from my past orders but they look similar in the photos. Still not holding my breath.
How does this compare to a 290 vapour x?

it takes about 3 to 4 months to produce a chip from start to end .. plusif you want to increase production you have to fight for it .
had this and the pulse on pre order since August 16th, not holding my breath and at the moment running on integrated graphics

Still don't know why they aren't pushing harder though, some of them are big companies that surely must have some clout in their field. The fact is they have a hot property with the RX580, yet they just let it languish out of stock for months on end. Crappy way to treat their (and potential) customers IMHO...

Same. I only play bad company 2 and trackmania 2 on PC (even when I had a gpu) and HD4600 plays both beautifully on 1600*900.

Well I guess I'm in on this pre-order too then as I doubt they'll deliver on the Pulse for £102.50 that ive had on pre-order since Aug 16th! This Nitro+ has a better cooling solution than the Pulse as well as a higher clock speed but realistically there's probably only a couple of FPS in it.

As I've said before, I don't understand Amazon's strategy "selling" these cards. They get thousands of people pre-ordering just for them to sit and wait with no communication whatsoever. That doesn't strike me as good business practice but hey, I'm no expert, but I think it reflects badly on both parties (Amazon & AMD)

I'm in the same position, my 280x died probably close to 5 weeks ago now, and just been waiting for something to grab.

I might be wrong but i think they are sought after due to being the cards that come with the Apple Developer eGPU kit, so will be natively support by MAC OS High Sierra, after watching some youtube videos, if purchased with the correct case (wait until the higher voltage case is released this month, as that will allow you to charge a macbook at the same time).
i have some of them cards coming via friends to build a mining rig.
The pulse one. was £238 and then went silly down in price. I called amazon and was told cant pre order any more and the price is right BUT you cant get the card to NOVEMBER!

quote from live chat

Amit: I will be true with you, the reason, you are not able to order a new card is because it is out of stock. This product will be available in the month of November. That's the reason, you have been not charged for it,as Amazon charges the order, when it's ships. The amount that will be charged for it is GBP 102.50, as we have waived the shipping charges for it.

How do these compare to their Nvidia equivalent?
My theory is this
Since miners are hoovering up all the cards and lower end cards are getting less and less profitable, they are becoming less desirable and even possibly selling like the 4gb cards.
Also AMD want to push Vega cards so it doesn't look like much incentive for AMD to make such a effort for 4/5 series cards.
Again.. just guessing

Vega cards are over twice as expensive as this, people in the market for a 580/1060 aren't gonna shell out that much more. Vega release has been an absolute hash, with AIB cards supposedly not coming until November now.
How does this compare to a rx470 4gb?? Thinking of upgrading to this just don't know if it's entirely worth it Ahaha! Thanks anyone who can help.

If you have a 470, there's not a big upgrade in getting a 480/580 - you need at least vega 56 / geforce 1070, and their prices are still quite inflated.
Is it worth upgrading my Msi 980ti for this card?

No, that would not be an upgrade.

Probably better but not £200 better, I would suggest reading some reviews and benchmarks.
you cant pre order any more pulse ones as they have reached their pre order limit i was told.
if you doing mining ( im just started but 2 weeks watching you tube ) you need a min 4-6gb on some coins so i went straight for the 8gb to be good for 2-3 years. loads of videos about hash rates ect and some coins you can not mine now with 2gb cards. YES i hope i get all 6 ordered, thats £650 for 6 cards, when on pre order was £1400 . i dont mine waiting in a way but eth is up at present

my start

I do not think AMD would be that stupid and failed to realise that keeping the gaming market dissatisfied for a long is going to cost them dearly. AMD is not selling graphic chips only , but also motherboard chipsets, cpu and other modules that are directly linked to the computer industry.

'Miners' are highly volatile customers as once the bubble is over there will be suddenly ZERO demand . At the same time, disgruntled gamers will seek other options (consoles ? ) and the AMD - neglected partners (such as motherboard manufacturers) will try to team up with competition, switch to other markets or shut down their businesses.

Miners do not buy AMD cpus or motherboards with their chipsests, they also won't buy that many hdd, sdds, monitors, cases, psus, memory chips etc. as the gamers do. The entire industry suffer because of this unexplained (well ,maybe speculators can give some explanations) craze.

I have had two 570 on order with amazon for three months. No sign of them yet which really disappointing from amazon. If you do get the cards at the steal price then fair play. I have a mining rig with a 570 and a 480 running at around 50 MHs. Etherium is up and down at the moment.
Joined the pre-order list as a hedge against my Pulse order not going through, thanks OP!
1070 Ti coming soon, perhaps price drops for regular 1070

I'm hoping the pulse order goes through in november.

Is it financially worthwhile having regards to set up costs/continuing bills?

How soon did you hit profit?
£32.40 cheaper than my 18th Aug. pre-order...now I'm thinking, I'll never get this card.
i have seen loads of mining rigs for sale just no dollar in it bloke on shpock tryin to sell 6 rx580 at 300 a pop haha...
the 470/570s will take longer to produce as they will be duff polaris chips
there is a rig for sale a few mins from me but wants over £2k and using 6gb cards.
you should get money back if you sold in parts if worse comes to it
i think my rig ( if cards come at price ) will be good price

so far shopping list is

Rig £38.77 (ebay) ( could of built for half that )
ATX PC Compute Motherboard Power Cable 2 Switch On/Off £0.99p
Msi Z270-A PRO Motherboard £94.99
Intel PentDC G4400 s1151 £44.99
1600watt psu £82.99
5 120cm fans were about £17.99
OLD 500gb sata drive free ( not going to buy a ssd as not needed)
6x pulse 8gb cards are about £642

£922.72

just need to get risers and ram later that should be a max of £70

so under £1k for a rig

hopefully will be doing about 174-180m/h on eth. i dont pay for power as included in my rent and worked out at 16p and a guess of 1000w for the whole unit. will cost £115 a month to run.

should make 12-17 eth a year

Wat coins can u mine with them ?.
I thought only asics can mine now not graphic cards.
Card 8 GB and over should be fine for mining but adjust your expectations accordingly. Eth and monero are profitable on AMD.
Zcash/lbry/kekkak on Nvidia currently.
Per card depending .. after electric bills you will make around 1 quid a day. Nvidia will make more. But also costs more to buy so it's not that simple.
So there is money but it's very small and.you.have to play the long game.
This will not make you rich.
Yes ASIC miners make way more money but are specialised, cost way more (thousands )and have a 2-3 month wait and come with around 3 month warranty. And sound like a plane taking off! ....

When i was looking at them 2 years ago i could never find a trusted asic miner manufacturer that could give exact wait time for miners to deliver and i couldnt trust them anyway.
There was one manufacturer in Manchester who made his custmers wait around an year and then i think refunded them money.
Whats market like now. Any trusted sellers now ?
Deal has expired.

I mean, do you really think you can get 6x580 cards for the mistaken price of 105 quid? That's just wishful thinking at this point.
