Heat added, might be waiting a long time for a price drop, specs look good.

Now that sounds like a dream come true

I would laugh out loud if they do, but the catch is the TV is a 12" 4K panel

They bundled a TV with the z2 when it was released Sony offer so I can see it happening again possibly
4K display :0

I was leaning towards a lg g4 on my contract update. But a crystal clear 4K phone is interesting. Plus the xperia having remote play without rooting the device for controller link up.

A new phone is a difficult choice this time around. the note 3 has done me well but the camera under standard house lighting is a joke (screen tears during video light balance).

That would be awesome I will keep an out, I remember Samsung doing a similar thing with the Galaxy S3 and S4, but offering a free tablet
when do they take payment?

As Amazon UK don't charge you until they dispatch an item, I imagine Amazon Germany will have a similar policy. So I guess it's a little bit like stocks and shares - the exchange rate may rise or fall in the interim.

Xperia ZZZZZzzzzzzz

My Z2 easily lasts 3 days before needing to re-charge it making it for me, a brilliant phone.
I didn't even know there was a Z4. Crazymonkey is also correct so the exchange rate will vary.

The 4k does not use massive amounts more power to be fair.
4k in a screen what a waste...
4k on 5.5 inch screen?? The term "gimmick" comes to mind.

I think your right, I'm interested in the compact but to be sure its worth buying from amazon.de I'll wait untill closer to release to see if the exchange rate and price are still attractive
got the z3, word of caution the z3 can't shoot more than two minutes of video in 4k without overheating and the app shutting down, Sony are well aware of the problem and unless they have fixed it on the z5 this will be a problem
z series very under rated

The Z5 is also lower at Amazon.de (£509.51 - €699), so also cheaper than UK.

Xperia Z5 premium v Z5 v Z5 compact
Nice find
I have had loads of android phones and my current Z2 is buy far the best handset I have ever had. So if the Z5 is an improvement on it then I shall look forward to it.

Unless you don't want to be tied to a network, my gut feeling is that if you wait a couple of months, it will be cheaper to get the Z5 compact on a 2 year contract than to buy it outright once you factor in the calls etc. Although there's little difference between the Z3 and the Z3 compact (other than size), curently the difference on PAYM is £34 compared to £25 on a like-for-like contract. And that's before negoatiating a discount.

Agreed - my previous three smartphones were Samsung until I got my Z1. Much as I loved Samsung, my Z1 is superior to any phone I've had previously, and I can use it when I go bodyboarding, which is a bonus. Sadly, I can't afford to buy a Z5 Premium outright, although if the price is right for PAYM, it'll be my next phone. Failing that, the Z5.
PAYM? Pay As You Mobile?
That's a Damn nice phone

That was someone elses comment, but I appreciate the mention
I'm a bit disappointed that Sony have stuck with the snapdragon 810 that was/is causing overheating issues with the z3+. I think I'm going to wait a little longer before upgrading to the z5 premium. I'm hoping Sony have addressed the overheating issues with that processor. heat anyway good price
