At AliExpress you can get the Xiaomi Mi Band 5 for 24,55 incl. shipping. This is a Pre-Sale item with unknown delivery date - Be prepared for long waiting time. I would highly suggest to wait 2-3 days longer as the price drop further before they will ship it out. This price here is acceptable but not good. For additional discount you can try Coupon Pals or Energy Lab Games within the AliExpress App. Don't forget 8.5% Quidco. The next best price I found real quick was 25,74GBP.

Specifications:
  • Display: 1.1" Large Color AMOLED Display
  • Battery: 125mAh Battery Compacity, Up to 14 days (Recharging time about 2 Hours)
  • Water Resistance: 5ATM Water Resistance
  • Activity Tracking: Count Steps, Distance, Calories Burned, Female Health Monitor
  • Healthy Monitoring: 24/7 Heart Rate Monitoring
  • Sensor: 3-axis Accelerometer, 3-axis Gyroscope,
  • Connective: Bluetooth 5.0

As I said before I would highly suggest to wait a few days more. There is no advantage in buying with Pre-Order. Most likely you end up waiting longer with a higher price. The price will drop down before they will ship it out. You can collect additional coupons in "Energy Lab". For example $3 off $20 and use it on 15th June. I expect a price of about 21GBP incl. Coupon. This deal was just uploaded to prevent people buy from the other crazy overpriced 29GBP deal.

As far as i know there is no international version yet. But following the previous versions there might be no real difference between global and chinese version. Language will be english and the functions are the same.
I see they've not deviated from strap design that tears/splits at the loop

You should put that in the deal description
Didn't we just buy the last one? I've bought a miband and a miband 3 and I decided not to buy a 4 because i suspected there would be a 5 and low and behold...
Getting a bit of fed up, seems like they're outdated the moment you buy them.

Yes if you have in phone english language so no problem with chinese, will be automatically english. But some peoples do not use english language in phones, so for this reason is here international. For us without english in phone, stay usually chinese

I don't find that. I had the 2nd one for ages and i can't fault my mi band 4 and probably won't get the 5. My wife on the other hand rarely wears her Fitbit and i think she'd get on better with one of these as you literally don't have to take it off and you forget you're wearing it. Amazing little watches

3 was awful. Straps were major issues. 4 was a massive improvement. You defo get bang for your buck with these now.

i think the global version will have a much bigger battery if it follows the miband 4. i read that it may also have alexa enabled.

I read there was room for a slightly larger battery in the global version of the 4 because it didn't have an NFC chip.

If the 5 works with Google pay I'm buying it at launch. Otherwise, I'll probably stick with my (brand new) band 4 which I'm loving.
I bought Mi Note 10 recently and got stung for £80 import duty so buy wisely. Think from now on I'm gonna either buy UK or slow boat from China not DHL, LOL I bought in haste as my old phone ha died. And still had to wait ages...

Thank you for your reply. I don't experienced any battery disadvantages using my Mi Band 4 (CN Version) so I can't confirm this. Regarding Alexa this is an interesting point, I will keep an eye on that. But I'm really sure this will be able to get flashed using the Mi Band 5 CN. But this is just based on my personal experience.

i think the chinese version does have NFC, it just doesn't work outside of china. i read about the battery and i think, if i remember correctly, the reason the global version has a bigger battery is because it is more expensive than the chinese version as they try to keep the cost as low possible for the chinese market. guess everyone else got more money to spend

here is the link about alexa on the global version

i have the miband 4 chinese version, and i get about 21 days of battery life. people on threads who have the global version have stated that they get soemthing like 45 days of battery life. so a significant difference.

The first statement is a wide spreaden rumor which is definitely wrong. There is both a CN Version with and without NFC. The chinese Version doesn't necessarily have NFC.

my mistake. i didn't know there is a chinese version without NFC. my chinese miband 4 does have NFC as it has aliexpress pay on it. i assume this means it does have NFC right? obviously i haven't used aliexpress pay option on the band.

didn't realise there were versions without NFC for china.

Articles which speak of Global Version having a larger battery are comparing it to the China Version - NFC model. The standard Mi Band 4 has a bigger battery than the NFC Mi Band 4 but both the China and Global Versions of the standard Mi Band 4 have the same battery. The only difference is firmware.

Global Mi site specs<
Battery: LiPo, 135mAh
Standby time: Up to 20 days

China Mi site specs<

Xiaomi Bracelet 4 NFC version:

Alipay uses QR codes not NFC. Therefore the standard Mi Band 4 China Version has it too. There were comments in some China Version deals from buyers asking if they'd received the NFC Version because they saw AliPay but that's just the Chinese firmware.

what are these like with data privacy, I'm guessing they upload info to a xiaomi server?
Don't bother, the app that goes with this is complete trash. Rarely syncs, when it does sync it's the wrong number of steps, the wrong day is displayed and periodically forgets workouts you've done.

They have, there is a new charging solution that means you come have to take it out of the strap to charge. Not that that was error a problem.

On mine, the straps always split at the little loop you feed it through before locating the clip. That means that if it unclips, the whole thing drops off.
Folks, as I said on a previous thread the NFC payment will proprietary to XiaoMi, just as ApplePay is on Apple Watches...
From the industry conversations I have had with Mastercard (who will be supporting XiaoMi Pay outside of China) plans do not extend any further than Russia for the moment, so NFC is not the USP for this watch at this time.

ditto

anyone with mi band 4 who isnt using the "notify and fitness" app, i would highly recommend doing so and paying the £3 for all the features. It has transformed my band 4 into an even better watch. I have customised vibrations so i can tell if I have got a text message, whats app, messenger or google keep reminder without even having to look at the watch
Has anyone got the direct link please. When I click on this link. It's saying we don't deliver to USA. For some reason

i haven't googled articles about whether the global version has a bigger battery as that is no one seems to be able to make a validated statement if this is true. i don't think the miband specs state the battery capacity so you could say for sure?

i have made my comments based on some people saying that they get 45 days of battery life from their miband 4 global version (they bought it in the uk from the likes of amazon). mine is the chinese version and i get something like 17 to 21 days so no way would mine ever get up to 45 days.

Official site specs, retailer specs, packaging specs and even teardown videos can confirm they've got the same battery capacity but if you'd rather believe "some people saying that they get 45 days of battery life" as evidence of a larger battery on the basis that "no one seems to be able to make a validated statement if this is true" then go ahead.
Ok for battery life it seems like the non nfc version has better battery life than the nfc version, this might then make the battery life equivalent to what the global version will be. This is according to gadgets.ndtv who claim to have this information from xiaomi

Yeah I ordered this morning and it said that. I don't know how it would be true unless they aren't retail boxed units. Doesn't appear to be any other way to charge them and straps are always unbranded?!
I will see when it arrives.
Gotta admit my mi band 4 is a bit annoying. Keepa turning an alarm on and waking me up at 7am? Also when you get in the shower it starts doing random exercise recordings. It claims I've walked a mile in the shower. Pretty rubbish to be fair even for £20
