Why is everyone posting deals on old DS systems and bad newer 2DS systems today. Is there some sort of joke going on?

Everyone's poor
Epect tobacco in the gaps and ‘fluids’ on the buttons
This goes for £60 second hand in CeX. I'm giving it a go, since the DSi XL is easily the best way to play DS games with its increased resolution. Unfortunately I lost my Wine Red one when I traded it in for the OG 3DS...which upgraded to a Fire Emblem XL...which upgraded to a Majora's Mask New 3DS XL!

Definitely. I just got my order in. Considering DSi XLs can comment around £60-70 it's worth a go! And will just return if I have any problems.

Cheeky That wasn't a bad deal actually, and I could have expired it but have left it open all this time because I am good guy. You should really post pics of the 9 hot deals I have posted for every 1 cold one for balance

I could post a bunch of 2DS deals of course, but that's bad judgement at best, and no self respecting person who is aware of how crap the 2DS is would go there. hotukdeals.com/dea…382

Nothing wrong with a bit of retro!
Pretty certain this is an image error, you’ll get a standard console rather than a Mario branded version. Still worry £25 thou
I wanna buy a 3ds for £60 dunno what's a good site to use
Would of had a dig but apart from the image the page doesn't reference the 25th anniversary version at all. Still a good price for an XL regardless.

You're right, poor wording on my part. It has the sharpest image quality of them all though.

That would also be incorrect. DSi XL has more pixelated screens. It has the same resolution as all other DS consoles, but the screens are bigger. So the pixels are bigger. People used to refer to the screens as looking stretched-out. I bought a DSi XL but didn't like the large pixels so returned it and bought a DSi. Preferred it so much more
I know it shows on the box that you get the mario game but is that actually included in the price for this? Just states on the website that it's just the console?

I very much doubt it ive ordered hoping its the mario edition even loose as pictured tho probably be a standard dsi xl.

Sorry but having owned one I disagree with you and the other poster. Having the pixels larger and stretched out does create a sharper image, I did own one for a year and I found it to be the best way to play DS games. The larger size is a better fit for adult hands (and I'm a bit older than I was when it first came out! (excited)) and the screen brightness colour is miles ahead of my 3DS XL.

It's not a discussion, you are wrong. Bigger pixels does not make an image better. You sound foolish to even argue. The size of the unit for bigger hands yes 100%,image quality 100% wrong.

Thanks for the needless jab. I didn't say it was better, I said it makes the image sharper i.e. you can see the individual pixels moreso than you could. While not everyone would like that I did say that's how I prefer it. I even remember at the time playing on it and then having a go on my brother's DSi that it almost looked blurry.

It breaks my heart to see people fall out like this on here...

Without meaning to offend either of you

The screen is bigger on an XL and therefore may be easier to see, and you may prefer that, but it is not sharper. The resolution is the same as the standard size but is being stretched, so the smaller screen is technically sharper as the pixel density is higher.

Ok maybe I should use a different wording... I don't mean sharper as I'm saying it's got like anti aliasing on it or something crazy like that, I mean that you can see the individual pixels better, so for example one thing that comes to mind is say the text boxes in Pokemon. If you're playing on the XL, you can actually make out each pixel and see where the black becomes white right on the edges of the lettering (does that make sense?). Whereas if you're on a smaller screen it's hard to see the edges and and the colours sort of blend together.

I'm aware they're the same resolution, however I prefer the stretched image. I a sucker for pixel art so playing games like Castlevania and being able to see each sprite's individual colours is better for me.

Anyway never thought I'd be discussing a DSi XL in 2018 so this has been a good nostalgia trip for me! I'm excited to revisit games like Castlevania, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Ghost Trick, Phoenix Wright, all without the washed out and blurry 3DS black bars version!

Dont worry about it, I was just trying to help

I never have thought I'd see a DSi console on hotukdeals in 2018, especially at 258 degrees! I'm all about Zelda BotW at the minute, my first proper delve into a Zelda game! But let's not talk about all the other games I'm neglecting!

njoy your gaming

At the time of me posting, 258 was exact, just like 274 probably was for you at the time.

its not 279 sooo......
There is no point getting this. You might as well get a 3DS or even better a 3DS XL, which plays both the DS games and 3DS games. Why limit yourself.

Because of the price it is or a parent might want to get it for there child and not want to pay more for a 3ds or have the 3ds aspect.
Out of stock

Not me Ah well can honestly say I don’t mind since this is the colour my old one was!

Looks like a fingerprint magnet at the moment so needs a clean...but can’t see any scratches on the screen so I guess I lucked out there
