If that was a question rather than a statement then the Wii shop still works just the online features of the few games that had them are no longer functioning. Hardly any games had online functionality anyway so no great loss.

got my daughter one and she loves it

Worth it for controller alone

It's a cheap way to watch netflix or amazon prime video on your tv

Great idea, my parents love House of Cards but don't have any way of getting Netflix (watched the DVD's) so might pick this up for them and replace with a cheap controller

Wii does 480p/i/576i which looks rather blocky and muddy, plus there's no HDMI it uses analog 3 pin connection so things to think about

I used to use a Wii with a component cable on a 50" screen. and it was absolutely fine! may pick up another for some Wii sports fun...and a bit of Zelda

I still use my Wii at home, for BBC iPlayer radio mainly in bedroom. Got ours from a Cash Converters a couple of years ago no problems

Dead console, they'll shut all of it down soon.

so ia this worth getting for monster hunter and zelda?

absolutely worth getting for Zelda.and Wii sports. tennis and bowling ALWAYS fun

I may get one. is sims any good

Good price but a pity online gaming will be switched off soon for it... No more Mario Kart online. .. Sob

Maybe depends on the telly and the viewer - my daughter watches netflix using Wii on 24 inch HD tv and it looks great - all the animated stuff looks superb. Certainly my parents both in their 60s don't even notice the difference between HD and SD.

I would thoroughly recommend a Wii even for netflix on its own - it works very well and is almost completely silent

Yeah but in many ways thats when a console starts its real life, my snes sees more use now than it did back in the 90s, i've been picking up Wii games for £1-2 since xmas, now is a good time to pick these up cheap. £19.99 is what a wiimote on its own used to cost eh!

Guys, pardon my ignorance, can we use this console for playing some games (bowling, tennis, golf etc)?

I have no idea what this console is able to do. If it can play some games, this might still be worth it..I think kids will love it.

It can make you a cuppa if you ask it nicely.

he he :P ..soo funny!! oO

I picked up one, no nunchuck and no Wii sport with it though. Will see what it is good for. It comes with 6 months warranty, but I guess who will bother.

I hope the kids will like it, they wouldn't know its not the latest and greatest PS-99.

I have feeling this needs some kind of game (card / disc or something?) but will know only when I get chance to read the manual / try it out.
