Might be a good upgrade for that aging Pentium desktop you have in the corner - just switch out the monitor, keyboard and mouse cables and away you go! Shame there is no built in WIFI though.

Don't see this as a deal tbh, about what you'd expect to pay for an old pc with no hdmi or usb3. Probably cheaper ones on ebay.
Not voting either way as tbh I think this is a fairly "normal" price for these kind of specs from ebay sellers, but wanted to post that this will be a perfectly capable machine for office tasks. The specs are identical to a machine I was using last week on a training course and it handled Sparx EA using a local db with no issues.
the ebay pic of the back shows VGA and DVI ports and no HDMI so I think this is the Vig690M motherboard. If true, then:
. H81 chipset
. Max 2x DIMMs and 16GB RAM
. HD4600 graphics => Full HD output possible
. 1x pci-e x16 slot, though unclear if graphics card can fit
. 2x SATA 6Gbps and 2x SATA 3Gbps ports => worth adding SSD for speed
. Gig ethernet
. 4x USB2 and 2x USB3 external ports - USB3 must be at the front
and i3-3220 processor has a passmark of 4230, which is decent
It's unclear if the cpu could be upgraded. It's an Ivy Bridge 55W cpu, and the heatsink looks quite beefy with heatpipes.
Specs say the motherboard supports i7, but the pics I found show a bigger case, so unclear whether this psu and heatsink would support that.

TL;DR - decent office machine for relatives with 60 day warranty from seller with good reputation.
MS-Word 2010 is an option at £40.
Voted hot for the price. However viglen produces garbage
Viglen! Still remember my 386SX. First PC I ever had running Windows (3.1) Bought it in 1992, IIRC.

I reckon it’s half-height cards only as it’s SFF.

Seems like a good deal for an assembled machine. Not sure what people are complaining about - you can’t even assemble this from scavenged parts for less! I agree that all it’s missing is an SSD, though an SSD will fix just about any computer made in the last 10 years.

Eh? I don't have an aging pentium in a corner. What you on about?

First PC I ever bought (for a research project - not out of my own pocket) was an IBM. It had a 286 processor, 1024KB RAM, a 10MB hard drive, 5.25" floppy and a Hercules (green screen) monitor. Ran MS-DOS3.3, and was purchased purely to run dBaseIII. It cost over £4000 in 1986. My personal computer at that point was an Atari ST-FM, with hi-res mono monitor and mouse - a great little GUI, until Windows 3 came along. Used it for all my report writing, along with a daisy-wheel printer.

Not you specifically Craig, I was just referring to what might be one of the most common use case for this particular device. :-)

More likely the Vig642/644. They only used the Vig690 for a couple months on the PCs we got in at work.

The SFF cases have room for one low-profile card.

... and for the WiFi comment - don't be dumb. These are sold to government organisations and education primarily. They don't use WiFi as standard.

Correct. It's a Vig642M motherboard.

It doesn't. There's no room.

Damn, must have confused it with the next case size up... Apologies.

Just received mine....IT HAS HDMI output!.....WOOOOOO

Datasheet here - Viglen Website Motherboard link would suggest that it is a Vig640M, at least mine was as it has an HDMI output!, the 642m doesn't
Brilliant Glad it's better than I thought ...
