I'd say that this is a case where buying in-store (to inspect before purchase) would be beneficial - but it's £49.99 in-store, and seems not to be widely available either. The warranty helps, at least!

I am been serious. These old 360's spent more time been sent to Germany (2 for me) to get repaired. I don't hold much hope for the grade C?

That console has got RROD written all over it! Also...I wouldn't be in a rush to go to Alton Towers following recent events. :-(

Elite for £62.99 with 120GB: http://www.game.co.uk/en/Preowned+Xbox+360+120GB+Elite+Console+(Grade+C)-494859?cm_vc=Prod_1

Having worked at Game I would not reccomend purchasing a c grade console no matter how cheap it is.

I wouldn't recommend shopping there at all for that matter!

One you're up to that price, I'd recommend putting in the extra £20 or so that would get you an 'S' model.

bought one of these a few weeks ago when they were 29.99 mine was pretty immaculate much to my surprise so im guessing it's hit and miss on quality

What they don't advertise with these Grade C (even grade A/B) consoles is the 7mm of human skin and dort in every nook and cranny on the xbox and the controller.

Lifetime warrany on ours after over 10 Germany deliveries. That was from new. Still good for a year for those wanting one I guess. Game guarantee.

It is the drives that are dodgy eventually. I used to have to open and close mine about 30 times before it would load a disc. Moved to the elite and eventually the same problem. I ain't trolling and i dont usually do the (spend extra) but a newer model isn't much different to this price.

Yeah was a killer wait but we ended up with over a years live, new wireless pad and charge kit and a couple games in end on top of lifetime guarantee. Was kinda worth it hehe Game can only swap it so many times? Its all MS used to do back in the day. Rinse & repeat. £35 is cheaper than a babysitter for summer hols (_;)

I wouldn't bother just but the slim for £60 I think it is in store with 12 month warranty might aswell pay the extra instead of 3 rings of death

Its an S model. It released on the same day Halo Reach came out which was 2010

I have a 2006 non hdmi model that is still alive until now

Not forgetting bogies, ear wax and faecal matter.

My son still has the 1st ever S model (2011) which is played daily and that is still going strong. I also have the black elite (2009) which is also going great and in really good condition. It all depends on how you look after them. Don't do marathon stints on them, install games to the HD and they should last a very long time.

Why would you not recommend shopping there at all, I have no love for Game head office they treated staff on the floor like dirt but I would and do still shop there as the shop staff are usually good

you are right. Two weeks ago I ordered from cex a Xbox 360 slim 120gb for £80.it turned up full of dust(at least the case was in good order).its only for the bedroom so I can cope with it.But this deal at that price even if the console turned up scratch doesn't matter you got 12 months warranty.heat added

Where are the slims for 60£

Good price, but you'll have to be extremely lucky. I managed to get a 120gb grade C back in 2010 for under £100, and still hasn't broken down yet Have some heat

I bought one from Game a while ago when they had a deal at £50 for the 4GB slim.

I only bought the console to play GTA V.

After I took it to CEX to try sell it, but they wouldn't take it, 'cos the warranty sticker had been tampered with.

Then I took it to Grainger Games, who offered £20. Then I took it to Cash Converters, who also declined due to the sticker.

To be fair the console was fine while I had it. No issues. So I think if Game give 1 year warranty, its a year of gaming for 30 odd squid. It's kinda like the warranty is worth more than the box in this case. Cos if you buy of eBay, you have no guarantees.

I then took the Xbox to a pawn shop who, fired it up, loaded a game, and then promptly gave me the £35 I asked for it.

Obviously some staff will be rubbish - its human nature but the ones I worked with and the shops I go to now are all fine and they know their games. I often got comments from customers on how well I looked after them and yes staff have targets but so do all shops but when I was there the one to push was Game Care which * AT THAT TIME * was really good value especially on a DS which were often dropped by kids and for £12 you were covered for a year

I witnessed a sales assistant try to sell an Xbox One controller for "only" £60 more and then try to push extended warranty on top of that.

True a lot of them are pushing for targets, however, the feeling I get from many is that they know little about games/gaming History.

C Grade!! ?? How come in 2010 when the new S model came out I took my Jasper 120GB Elite to Game and it was immaculate condition and looked perfect, boxed and all sorts the guy said after shaking the hell out of it right infront of me that there was a slight rattle to it so they wont take it.

And yet the offer for sale C grades that have food stuck to the eject button of the DVD Drives and stuff?

If you are going to buy this only buy if its a Jasper. Meaning the sticker on the back says 12.1amps power requirments. Not 14.2a Falcon or 16.3a Xenon.

Not a fan of these, somehow went through 7 and eventually gave up and bought a slim. Does come with the warranty though so I guess it could be worth the risk.

Lol they give you a console that will break within 3 months. It's okay though, you'll die at Alton towers long before you ever see an rrod

Be very warned - I bought one online when they were being sold for £50.
Got it home and worked for about 3 weeks, Then got the usual RROD. It also had 2 old repair stickers on it, so took it to a game store for a refund. However when the shop assistant looked at it, the warranty sticker was MISSING so they would not accept it. I argued that it had been sent to me like that but they said i had to get in touch with Game head office for authorization.

Word of advice, dont buy 2nd hand consoles from Game (had a PS3 that went as well after 2 months of ownership) but that Xbox 360 incident was the final straw. And if you do, make sure it has the warranty sticker on it!!

Edit - my ridiculously bad English
Edited by: "118luke" 6th Jul 2015

When the consoles come in they "Should" be checked to make sure the Microsoft warranty sticker has not been messed with in case its been modded etc and the console would then be sold with the same sticker intact.

When I worked there I was there for around four years but we got Christmas temps in and some of them weren't as clued up as to what to check on consoles etc so maybe them and of course crap full time staff aren't doing their job right and taking in and selling (I checked both times) that the warranty sticker was there and of course everything else was working

Grade c mostly due to scratches and scuffs, nothing to do with rrod, this is ideal for the kids room imo.

Quite cheap for a Jet engine.
