Sub 10K for a brand new car seems a great price to me for that spec. Good find OP - heat from me

The rules changed about 2 years ago. Everything new that isn't 100% electric now pays £145 a year, over £40k RRP commands additional VED for the first 5 years.

There is no £20 VED for a new sub 100g/km diesel/petrol engined car any more (old cars with that VED band currently retain the band).
the tech edition is the real deal for a extra £500. built in sat nav, glass roof, reverse cam, better looking alloys and dual zone AC. Bargain.
Totally respectable deal as far as I'm concerned....

I for one am not interested in enacting any Need for Speed shenanigans on our lovely roads

Top marks for bothering to read all the spec.... More than I did
These are for Maniacs and Yobbo's.

I'd much rather drive this 208 with the 1.2 litre than the huge 5008 people eater (yes, you can buy it with the same engine)

Few points to add
Hybrids are £10 a year cheaper.
New cars have the first year VED included in the purchase price (can be up to £2,135).
Cars above £40,000 pay £320 annual supplement for five years from the second year of registration.

That variant has a turbo and 50 more bhp.

Ah my mistake didn't realise the rules had changed. Cheers
Not a bad deal, there are some slightly better deals out there for pre-reg on autotrader at other dealers

autotrader.co.uk/cla…197
Even with warranty I wouldn’t touch a Peugeot personally , similar Mazda 2’s out there as a decent alternative or a Fabia
Pure tech engines are fantastic, I had cactus c4 also equal a diesel engine....
Thanks OP spoken to my local dealer who are matching this and including the three years free servicing as well
I hope the guy with the citroen c1 doesn't upgrade to this, he'll be claiming he beat an f1 car round Silverstone due to his pro bend skills

We have a c1 & a 208 in the family, plenty quick enough around town.

Power is no good if you no longer have a licence.
Having attempted to drive one and being the owner of size 12 feet, the lack of footwell space meant that it verges on being dangerous. Not a problem if you have small feet. As for the gear box, in a word, rubbery.

My comment wouldn't make sense to you unless you know what im joking about from a previous lease deal
Stonking deal for a new car with great economy, comfortable drive and plenty of kit.

Is that Benny Hill rubbery or very soft?

It’s not the same engine - the one in the 3008/5008 has 130bhp

Keep a bicycle in the boot, for the times when you need to get somewhere fast.
Lots of style no substance.

Decent deal, but for those that aren't aware, this is now the old model.
"SIGNATURE 5DR, 1.2litres"

Perfect for my family of 4, can't wait to tell them the news.
Great price for a new(ish) car. Shame it's a Peugeot
what would the likely depreciation be on these after 5 years?
moneychop30/12/2019 15:26

Assuming 60% depreciation it still seems decent on paper. 10k - 6k leaves 4k. 6k/60 months equals £100 per month. Get an extended warranty though 😳

The extra £500 for tech edition wiht sat nav, reversing camera, decent looking alloys and panoramic roof seems a decent upgrade for the price!
Would be tempted if they had an option to pay a bit more for an automatic
ok so I just saw this in the description - "Adamantium cran trim with cardio blue stitching"

Someone let wolverine know
A lot of car for the money.

Just a shame about the poor manual gear change, the clunky touchscreen and the borderline useless glove box. Even at £10k some may struggle to put up with the unconventional i-cockpit dash layout, where the top of the steering wheel can obscure your view of the dials.

Apart from that though it's reasonable value. And as someone else said, if keeping beyond 3 years, seriously consider an extended warranty.

Does pre-reg mean you would be listed as second owner on v5c?

Yes...

V5C isn't proof of ownership, but you would be second registered keeper.

Also factory warranty starts ticking down from the day of first registration, rather than the day it is registered to you. Not a major problem in this case as it's 69 plate so max 4 months old, but some pre-reg cars can be a year old.
