HaHa....I'm assuming you've never experienced a Xiaomi phone? But by all means keep getting ripped off buying "brands' in the UK...

Uhh the fingerprint sensor is on the back, not the front. #fakenews
Wonder what else in that spec sheet is wrong.

the only other thing i would be cautious about are the 4G bands cant find anything official about band 20 no doubt there will be a band 20 version as it is to be sold in Taiwan but whether this has it im not sure
official launch price of 14,999 Rs converts to £181
Interesting device, and I like the stock android aspect. Any idea if there's an NFC chip?

Yes quite right but thats what you pay direct from Xiaomi or a Xiaomi store to buy it for the uk you got to go through the third party sellers like aliexpress, gearbest, banggood who are always going to mark it up considering this a £15 mark up is pretty good normally more like £40-£50 initially then gradually coming down

dont think so can't find anything saying so here link to gsmarena spec sheet which is not bound to be totally correct gsmarena.com/xia…php
Heat. Still prefer the trade off of the extra 1000mah on the note 4 than pure android on this

That's one of the pages I looked at. Also looked at a link from the MIUI twitter feed. Guess no mention means it's not there. Never mind.

Optimisation from stock android should give this phone a very good battery life.
I think I want this... the battery being so much less than the Redmi Note 4 is a concern tho, and I'd like to know if it has NFC (seems not) plus confirmation of Band 20
I'll wait for this to drop in price I think. I just know how xiaomi phones go! It'll be £150 in no time

Hope so, if it gives 1000mah's worth, that baby is mine. Will wait for some SOT reviews.
It's literally better than the upcoming Moto G5S Plus in every way. It even has USB Type C.

I think I'm going to get this. Looks like it has Band 20 support to boot.

Do you reckon the camera will be a bit Poo?
I would message the seller to confirm band 20 support before buying as the first batch to go on sale on the 12th Sept are mainly for the Indian market and i dont think band 20 is required there that is not to say it wont have band 20 but other Xiaomi phones for the Indian market did not have band 20 support. There will be a version with band 20 as it is to be sold in the Taiwan market

Majority of the Chinese phones doesn't have OIS.....
that puts me off paying large amounts of cash just for the specs
is this truly a global version? xiaomi don't list UK as one of the region's the phone will be sold to, not sure if this is always the case. for around the 160 mark I will bite but not quite at 200

There is a global version that will be fully compatible with the uk here is the official tech specs mi.com/en/…cs/ if you scroll down to connectivity and open up network bands you will see it has Lte band 20. Now there is also a Indian version and here are the official specs for that mi.com/in/…cs/ and do the same as above you will see it does not have Lte band 20. You just have to make sure which version the seller is selling

Been waiting for over a month for Amazon or John Lewis to have the G5s Plus as I was intending on getting that after the death of my Nexus 5X, still not officially released.

Ordered the A1 last night, seller lists it as global version with band 20 so will find out in 3 or 4 weekswhen it arrives. Lenovo/Motorola can do one.

That link works, and I stand corrected. I wondered if full band support was a condition from Google for an android one device. I apologise.

This is pretty much a more polished version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4...

You are paying about £60-70 more just to have a twin lens camera and pure Android.

I am very surprised considering this is using pure Android, they have not added NFC, as Android Pay is pushed by Google very heavily these days.

I couldn't be happier with my Redmi Note 4, even though not pure Android, I am getting near monthly security updates and continuous updates of the MIUI software.
