£160. 50?
Price is £169.99
Not £160.5
Wish we could buy this great phone from a UK seller. I'd pay the extra...
This or wait on the imminent redmi note 5 ??...
Personally think reducing the battery size by 25% compared to the redmi Note 4 was a wrong move. Still amazing value though. And coming down in price nicely. 150 quid soon...

It shows as 218 dollars, I googled what this is in pounds and it said 160.50, have I missed something?

This is also a pre order and does not ship for another 6 weeks,in which time the other big chinese sites may undercut it.

I clicked on the link and selected £ as currency and then price shown as £169.99.
So if anyone placing the order would pay£169.99 than £160.5

I am sure I am not missing anything

I may be wrong but my understanding with these sites is you get the best price by leaving it in dollars and paying on a no fees credit card

My point is that is impossible to get Google conversion rates even with no fee credit card.
One thing majority people do is just select currency as pounds to pay for.
No nfc - no android pay :-(

Thanks for your helpful and persitant coments....
I just thought people on this site liked to go a little further to find the best price, no fee credit cards are free and they would save you nearly £10 on this purchase alone. Have a lovely evening.
Anyone know if MIA1GKB code from previous deal still works?

No problem - it's a cheapy phone, leave it hidden in your pocket and present your plastic to the shopkeeper.
I've read that it's buggy and doesn't perform great compared to the Xiaomi mi5x.
Ignore me. Getting confused with the mi5c.

I always buy my stuff from China with a Halifax clarity card in dollars especially anything over £100 as it is a extra saving this deal comes out as £162.64 paying in dollars $218 on mastercard currency converter mastercard.us/en-…tml so saving an extra £7. The only Chinese site i dont do this is aliexpress as their £ to $ rates are pretty much similar to clarity card strangely though paying in euro's is slightly better on aliexpress

China and India don't use Google Pay, that's why. Google and Apple pay are only really a thing in the US and parts of Europe. Japan has had saifu keitai systems for a few years but those work differently.

China actually doesn't even have Google Play at all which is why many Chinese phones ship without it.
Just on the point of $ v £. I usually pay in $ with my monzo card (no fee card) and get the rate you google. Sometimes it's actually better.

India has google play store, there is nothing other than google there, so chinese manufactures have to get play store version of there software

Yeah maybe those countries don't use Android Pay but just by putting nfc chip in the phone enables other functions... You've got nfc literally everywhere these days!

Once you're used to AP its really annoying to use cards again. Plus I made Tasker profile to help track spendings.

Christ, its £160 - its not a top of the range phone. You're still getting a lot for your money and its got a dual camera.

Was going to get this until I saw a review of the Elephone S8 on youtube. That phone is amazing, especially for an elephone.

Yep, totally agree but wouldn't you think that nfc is more a standard rather than dual camera? Not dissing this phone, just saying that it's missing nfc and it's a real shame.

We live in uk where wireless payment is everywhere not China or India . But good phone even without NFC due to Android One . Wish we could buy Android One phones in Uk.

What's with all this fuss about nfc, I've had nfc on my phones for the past 5 or 6 years and never used it once. Saw someone paying by phone few nights ago for the first time ever. I'm happy with cash or contact less card.
What is it with all these SD625 based mobile phones! I wish Qualcomm would hurry up and run out of them and get to churning out their newer CPU's.
Having no NFC is a plus point. The three birds, Judith Chalmers. Angela Rippon and the other one? Is it it rip off Britain, showed recently how easy it is to steal someone's money off their NFC phone

Agreed. I've also had the ability to pay contactless removed from my debit card. The bank weren't keen at all and I had to listen to a seemingly interminable legal statement which I had to agree to. I just find it incredible that the banks introduced chip and pin to make it safer to use cards then go and introduce a system that makes it a piece of cake to defraud just by stealing/cloning a card and going on a shopping spree! The bank told me I would get the money back if this ever happened but I countered that I didn't want to lose the money in the first place. Nuts...
