Why only post the negative comment, why not the other one that rated it 5*?

Hardly an "advanced" metal detector.

More like a beginners toy

Buying this will put you off metal detecting for life..nothing but a child's toy.

Why? Serious question: Considering the next models up are around the £400 mark,, what more do you get for your 8x more money ?
My son's got an even more basic model than this and we've had some great times with it.
What it does is...er.... find metal. To that extent it completely met my expectations!

ok first things first as you say it will find metal .all be it at a reduced depth to superior machines.compared to more advanced machines your discrimination will be poor this can cause a problem in trashy areas( ie areas with multiple underground mineral and metal targets also take your machine to the beach and it will perform admirably in dry sand but move on to the wet and it will start chattering( making noise ) to the extent that it is useless that is why most advanced machines come with a salt water setting and even then you still suffer some chatter. Next on advanced machines the coils are interchangeable to allow you to use diffrent types and sizes for diffrent areas. Also I have a 7 tone mode which means once you know your machine you don't even need to use the display to know what target to dig plus 3 hunting mode settings and built in pin pointer trigger. But as you quite rightly state these features all come at a price.so really to sum it up if all you want is to hunt small change yes this will suit you. But to support my original statement if its gold rings, chains, buried relic treasure etc then your machine will disappoint .one last piece of advice that I found invaluable when starting out.now you,ve got the machine get yourself a handheld pinpointer such as whites bullseye for about £40 invaluable time saver for locating objects in your dig hole this saves you time distinguishing beer cans and foil from coins as to a metal detector they are all on the same frequency. Any way happy hunting and good luck

I'm looking for a decent metal detector to to begin with, only willing to spend no more than £120. Any suggestions
