Show me a better Telescope for the same price. I think its a bargain for a beginner.

I bought one for my teenage son this morning, had to visit a few Aldi's because they had customers waiting outside for the store opening, to grab what they had.

Thanks, ToOn7. Ha, yes, maybe the astronomyforum.net comments don't consider this in glowing terms but they have higher expectations than a beginner. That was my thinking, that this is a good buy for a child or beginner.
Can anyone suggest an alternative around the £100 £150 as a gift for an adult beginner?

If you can stretch to £174.99, then this Skywatcher Skyliner 150p is a brilliant piece of kit. Its large, but with telescopes, large = more light let in = more detail

Ideally nearer £100 but £150 would be my absolute max. Any worthwhile options?
i got one of these today for my 10 year old for christmas. quickly assembled it to try it out and was impressed with how easy it was to use, quality of the build and image clarity. it was easy to find and focus on the moon and see craters in detail. i imagine it's a lot harder to track down distant objects but hey he's 10 and will enjoy the moon for a week and then he'll hang his running shorts on it.
