Just tried using this voucher but it didn't work. According to the terms & conditions the code can't be used on consoles

only on games not consoles
Seems like a pretty rubbish deal to be honest...It would be okay if it was new though
Don't see how this is a rubbish deal. Ok Asda sold these new at this price about 3 months ago. But that was 3 months ago and not now since they don't sell Wii U consoles any more.

The Wii U is a decent console. Just barely any good games on it. If you enjoy Nintendo games such as Mario or Zelda ect then get one you will love it. If not and you like your football or FPS then don't as there is barely any of that on this console.
Slightly on / off topic...

I nearly purchased an Xperia Sp for £145 second hand, in Game today. However, on checking I found it was locked to O2... (was advertised as unlocked, but wasnt)

Anyone know if the Xperia Sp is easy to unlock ? Would it retain its 4g ?

I also found they had a Galaxy Tab 3 which had a 3g sticker on it, but on checking I found it had no sim card slot...rather odd, just a heads up to check any pre owned stuff from them carefully folks.

If only they released 3DS game reader software for Wii U.

Might be worth looking on gumtree then
Is there a warranty? And is it boxed?
Not a bad price and a good time to look at getting one, theres some quality software coming out at the moment (although, admitedly, not in abundance) WindWaker HD, Rayman Legends, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3 and soon Mario 3d Worlds is released, which looks like a system seller to me.

If you have patience I can easily see this dropping in price for a new version for xmas or jan sales.
10% code isnt working for anybody as far as im aware..
They will be this price new after Christmas..
Found out no original box, but 12 months warranty.

You can get unlock codes for that phone on Ebay for less than £14, this one for example > Sony Xperia Unlock code o2 UK ALL Xperia Z Ultra Z1 Xperia E M J L T U P S SP

The Wii U might tempt more people if it was this price. Now it's got slightly better than last gen graphics and totally inferior to new gen consoles. However it's the software that makes a platform (unless the hardware is ridiculously badly designed) so if the Wii U has the games you like this is probably an ok deal. I personally think the Wii U is a dud and once the Xbone and PS4 get here then it's going to have even less interest in it.

Nintendo aren't even trying to compete with Xbox or Playstation, if the console makes money, the games sell, and the people get paid, then Nintendo are happy.

You should read the links I provided in my edited comment above. The Wii U has failed, it is a failure, it's not going to be a big success. It need to be very cheap to try and tempt people in and I don't hear many people talking about it now, people are already gearing up to get the Xbone and/or PS4 and even younger gamers are more savvy now and don't want cutsie Nintendo gaming. Nintendo have done a Blackberry on this console.

I'm no Nintendo fanboy but your comments are pretty stupid. The Wii u is a good console with some great games and will only get better. You seem to know the future saying Nintendo will fail while your there please check this weeks lottery numbers cheers
i sold my wii u on gumtree for £90 and i thourght the buyer got ripped off

Reading the articles, it's safe to say they're way off base and written by ppl who know little about marketing and business. Some of the words used were poorly chosen. The tech crunch one was the only decently structured article but the points were poorly made.

wicked price best I've seen so far
Had a wii u since the Hmv offer a while back mainly use it for cod and Rayman and to be honest although the dashboard of the system does have a "fluffy" feel as Nintendo sold these for all ages it is a neat addition to my console collection especially the feature to leave the mrs watching "her shows..yawn" and I can either be playing games or watching lovefilm without disturbing her.. It ain't a full "next gen" console in light of what's now coming but as long as games keep coming ill be sticking with it

I wish I had your confidence in the system I loved Nintendo from the SNES, through to the 64, Gamecube and first half of the Wii's lifecycle. They just seem to have lost their innovative touch when it comes to software. There are no games that interest me on the system, either current or announced. Every Mario game just looks the same to me, relying on repeating what worked in the past and hardly innovating it at all (I swear, if they release another 2.5D Mario game I'll... well, just be even more disappointed).

I want to know where F-Zero, Lylat Wars, Rogue Squadron and everything else I loved about the older generation games have gone. I know it's an unpopular opinion to have, but is anyone else sick of Mario?

On topic - voted hot as it looks like a good deal for a WiiU today with 12 months warranty, but I think it'll easily drop to this price (or below) new in pre and post Christmas sales.

Really? Nothing interests you out of what's been announced for this year and the next?

I don't mean this to be rude but are you focusing too much on screenshots and early vids? Coz the Super Mario Worlds game is starting to look pretty sweet from the more recent gameplay videos - changes up the formula significantly in the platforming genre. Have you thought about what it is that really bothers you about the sameness of the Mario games?

I guess to be fair, I am making sweeping judgements based the screenshots and early videos, but it just looks like a repeat of Galaxy's more flat worlds. But that's the problem, Nintendo doesn't grab my attention enough for me to dig deeper anymore. The first Zelda WiiU tech demo (next-gen Link battling HD Queen Ghoma Spider thing) looked absolutely incredible. But since then, my interest in WiiU has just died out in a whimpering fart. I want to love Nintendo again, I do. It just doesn't feel like they're trying any more.
He he "whimpering fart" ??? I didn't see a deal for Heinz beans on here!!

I cant see any link to a 10% off voucher on that web site. What am i missing!? I can use that on games if it cant be used on consoles.

Good deal for now but i expect the price to drop to this from NEW after the release of the Xbox and PS4. Im quite happy with my PS3 for now (only got it 9 months ago so i have a lot to play through!), but i am planning on picking up a Wii U when the price is right for the 32 gig version to satisfy my Zelda needs!

Pikmin 3 is a great joy to play - same goes for Rayman Legends. I hear loads of good things about Lego City Undercover and Zombi U was **** scary game for me to play. That's part of the Wii U problem - it needs to be experienced first before making a fair judgement. And Nintendo has had a devil of a time getting that marketed. I tried applying for a job there in PR not too long ago and probably dodged a bullet in the timing of it bearing in mind the torrent of bad publicity they've had to face in the last 2 years. If I were them, I'd push the heck out of the retail marketing team to work out deals for Wii U kiosks in various key high street retailers (GAME, John Lewis, Tesco, Currys PCworld) - there's many other things I'd recommend from a marketing perspective of course but that's one of the first things I'd push for. A couple of tours and gaming expo appearances plus the odd demo kiosk here and there may not be enough to get the Wii U into people's hands. The second would be to work with the existing UK community manager (met him, cool guy), to get more community events publicised. The Kid Icarus Battle Squad tourney was cool and we could easily have Pikmin 3 (and more Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate) time trials.

I'm guessing you work in marketing, it's just something you said. You know those people who have no souls and just spout irritating rubbish, they're your best mate, they specialise in dis-ingenuity, they 'rock climb' at the weekends and work best in a team. Worryingly enough you suspect they're part of a larger plan for globalised commercial idiocy via a cloning program. I love people that work in marketing, they have no souls but they're awesome at selling other peoples, they're like lite versions or practice versions of people that work in media.
