Iv'e been using goggles4u for two years bought for myself and friends,Saved a fortune from rip off opticians like specsavers,

Does this offer include varifocals? The post suggests it does, just takes longer to deliver, is this the case?

That person was refering to the OP which the made a spelling mistake, which if you read, read Googles4u instead of Goggles4u.

What's the cheapest eye test around at the moment?

It's called a joke.
Edi had a typo in title which has since been corrected.

Anyone got the link for a pair complete for £10?
It charges me for lenses extra on top

Not sure if you need to use code 10GBP - try & leave a comment

I cannot find a company address anywhere on the site, am I missing something here?

they should come up for £4.99 automatically - no need to enter voucher. but if you use "FreeFrame" it knocks two pairs down to £8.98 so even cheaper!

10GBP code didnt work (i guess out of date)
and
FreeFrame code took one pound off

BIG DEAL lol

Anyone else have any ideas how to get for £10?
Pete

You have to pick two of the £4-99p pairs by the look of it.

Almost certainly based in China or HK. I've used a similar company 'selectspecs' and they are very good and a fraction of the rip-off prices charged by specsavers etc!

Karachi, Pakistan I've had some before when they shipped direct. They are all remailed from the UK now.

From memory (and backed up by a google search) they are based in Pakistan.

Please be sure of your Pupil Distance (PD) before ordering. I ordered a pair of sunglasses a previous time this offer was on, tried to measure my own PD and failed miserably.

Glasses appeared to be of OK quality, but for me I'd rather search out the best deal on the high street

used them for a while now .. good customer service and reliable.

Just make sure you measure everything properly!

Fab just ordered ...good range of styles too. Cannot complain for two different pairs for £8.98!

Just ordered a couple of pairs @ £4.99. Two points for info:

1. The £4.99 price does not include any coatings, e.g. anti-scratch or UV filter,
Coatings add £10 per pair to the price.

2. If paying via PayPal, which I did, the price comes up in US dollars on both
the Goggles4u and PayPal invoices. Not sure what this will do to the final
price I'll pay, although I expect it will be slightly more than £9.98.

Still sems cheap for two pairs of rimless glasses, with flexibility to increase/decrease lens width and depth, which I did.

Heat and rep added.

Rockfieldjohn which rimless ones did you pick that had flexible lens width and depth.

Just about to ask the above as well !

Anybody swim with glasses? Seen somebody doing this and they simply had a band around the back of their head like goggles have but attached to the glasses instead. I was thinking of maybe doing this with a cheap pair.

Think there was a deal a little while ago saying Tesco now had £10 range if you wanted to go instore.

Just bought 4 pairs for £16.16 as i was a returning customer and also use GLASSYEYES discount code. Thanks
H&R added

I can't get this price to show, it's always charging me £19 at least for lenses.

I do have quite a strong prescription though - is this offer only applicable below certain strengths?

We have neighbours who go to Pakistan once a year and I give them my prescriptio & they bring back 4-5 pairs of stunning glasses for a total of £20 - and they make a profit on it

Rip off Britain.

Seems to be 5% quidco too, if it works with the voucher codes.

Well, 20 minutes browsing 600+ frames, and I still don't see any I like.

I think I'll stick with Glasses Direct - a tad more expensive, but still WAY cheaper than the highstreet, and a better range of more modern frames, IMO.

just ordered me another couple of pairs, thats 7 pairs intotal i've ordered from them and have nothing but praise, it saved me a forune over the years as i've had Hugo Boss, Zara and Kappa frames from them.
code FreeFrame is now only giving a 10p discount not a 10% one, so to get the further £1 off use the code GLASSYEYES

Er, no. More like sweat shop Pakistan. Would you do your job for peanuts and sleep in the factory? I guess conscience over price is never easy.

There's absolutely no way this would work with your normal glasses as light refracts through water differently than it does through air. Try wearing a pair of normal glasses underwater and you'll see what I mean. You need air (not water) between your glasses and your eye if the lens is to work 'normally'.

You could always have lenses adjusted to take into account the different refractive index of water but it's probably just simpler to have prescription goggles made.

And for what it's worth, I've had very mixed experiences with Goggles4u in the past. They seem to be pretty good for mild short/long sightedness but if you have a strong astigmatism or are very myopic/presbyopic then you may find that the personal service you get from a qualified opthalmologist or a budget UK firm like Glasses Direct is worth paying the extra for.

Tries to charge me betweet £19 and £29 for the lenses! - on top of the frame cost.

I'm very short sighted, I wear my glasses whilst swimming and I see things in focus whilst underwater - or at least much, much closer to in focus. So I say go for it, just remember not to dive in with them.

Great site and great prices but frames are too big for my mrs, total width needs to be 110mm.
