Aren't the prices in USD and then there is a shipping charge on top - or I am missing something?
Code also takes £3.00 off price of £12.95 glasses taking them down to £9.95 delivered.

Yep sorry about that...copied the web address from page I was on which was displayed in pounds and only found when I checked it after copying it into my comment that it went to US site if you clicked it directly...edited my comment above but obviously not before you'd tried it...only thing I can advice is searching on google as that's how I got the site in pounds...hope that makes sense
5 quid shipping charges?
free shipping today goggles4u.co.uk/

that's bizarre...it does take you to the US site. But when you find the .co.uk site its def' free P&P.

Great offer! I had voucher for free eye test Vision Express and after they gave me the results said I had to rush back to work. Went to Goggle4U.co.uk chose the frames, put in lens prescription and got reading and driving glasses £15 delivered. Took about 10 days and styles are limited but if you just want extra pairs for the car and handbag it's perfect!8)

i'm getting a £3 royal mail charge.
Haven't ordered from G4U for a while now but I have seen some HUKDers recommend trying out the US site first, then UK, to compare prices. Might be worth a try.

Check the small print
Its either the free shipping or the 3 quid off - cant have both the codes at the same time. For those who have purchased from here, how is the quality of the product they send - is it good for daily wear?
Lenses only available up to +6 sphere strength.

they dont seem to have transitions though

I have purchased one couple of weeks ago and it arrived last week. The lens quality is good, frame is ok, but cant complain for £6.95 frame price.
I just received a pair of rimless glasses. Very happy with lens quality. Comparable frames are 200 pounds at vision express.

They like to call them 'photochromic lenses' or similar. Don't worry, they are still good quality, just without the brand name

I've used them before, switched to SelectSpecs for my +4.25 lens prescription and haven't looked back. Better quality lenses, similar frames, similar prices
ive never ordered glasses online so can someone tell me how i buy glasses if they dont know what my vision is like, do i go to the optician and ask for my eyesight file, sorry if its a stupid question but if i dont ask i will never find out :-)
Just a minor warning - I ordered 2 pairs from this site using the APOLOGY code offer (30% off). Went for cheapo acetate frames. Received within 2 weeks. One was perfect, I coulnd't tell the difference between that and my current Specsavers glasses. However, the other was completely off. Having looked at a few negative reviews on TrustPilot (where this company has a very decent rating), it appears errors are being made at the fulfilment centre in Pakistan wherein the centres of the lenses do not align with the centres of your pupils, resulting in blurred vision.
To give credit to G4U, I raised this issue on their online chat system and they immediately offered a replacement set of specs which I went for, no questions asked and no requests to return the faulty pair either. Hopefully this set will be fine.
They're not a bad outfit and the CS seems exemplary, I will use them again but beware you may run into some issues.
Anyone else find it hard to navigate to correct frame sizes or is that just me?

Yes, just get your prescription from any high-street optician - they're obliged to give this to you. Use a free eye test offer which you regularly get from Specsavers, Tesco Opticians etc. What opticians do not usually give you, unless you specifically ask for it, is the PD (pupillary distance) which is essential to mount the glasses in the frames properly. If the optician is reluctant to provide this to you, you can measure it yourself using a friend or a mirror (just google it).

Once you have your prescription including the PD, it's simply a case of logging onto one of the many online suppliers like Goggles4U, Specky4Eyes, Glasses4U etc and entering the prescription and PD onto an online form. Just make sure you do it carefully.
Do any of these online people offer vari focal lenses, I pay a lot for these from my usual place, dolland andwhatsit

Well... it's not a stupid question as their is a first time for many things.

You need to get a prescription... from your optician... I usually go to SpecSavers with a discount voucher (on the back of parking tickets) annually and they charge me £10 for testing my eyes. I get the prescription there and then and then buy glasses online... by going to the website *googles4u.co.uk* and selecting a frame... then they ask you for your prescription readings for both eyes... I enter that.. order it.. n that's it!
How are you lovely people getting your PD measurements? Never been able to get that from the opticians after a test.
Great deal although worth mentioning the "1.57 CR39 Lenses" are actually 1.5 index lenses, they confirmed to me by email back in August.

From what I understand CR39 lenses only come in 1.5 index which are slightly thicker, so a little misleading when it says 1.57.

A friend would be best, otherwise a mirror; either needs to be combined with a ruler:

I can't get Vtry to work either, thought it was my internet connection!
Thanks to goonertillidie! Another of the great hotukdeals!

The APOLOGY code posted earlier works fine, giving 30% off all models, afaics. Pair of rimless with prescription distance lenses delivered for £12; can't be bad!

I went for two pairs, one distance, one reading.. And found using the code on their front page "2for10" it worked out slightly cheaper than the OP's code. Two pairs of £6.95 glasses for £10 plus £5 postage equals £15 instead of £15.90. but still thanks OP, I would never have tried to purchase these glasses without your post.
The American site is cheaper, just got 2pairs of rimless with anti reflective coating for £20 delivered using code Bogo.
What is the option ADD? I have my specsavers prescription but ADD is not returned?
