Prescription swimming goggles from Newitt for £6.90 inc P&P

I'm no expert on the prices of these, but always thought that prescription swimming goggles were expensive. These work out at £6.90 total. £2.40 for each lens (on offer) and then £2.10 for an assembly kit.

I haven't used Newitts.com before, but see that they get decent reviews from folks on here.

If anyone can post an image that will be great. Thanks.

Asda are selling prescription goggles in their optician department for £17. I have bought these for the whole family and they are fantastic quality

You're very welcome

They are for short-sightedness, not magnifiers. The prescription numbers are negatives, not positives.

I see that the kit needed to assemble them is now sold out, but I've still ordered the lenses and will cannibalise an old pair of goggles to assemble them.

Thanks to whomever put the image in.

Now I can read underwater, cool!

When I look under water with normal goggles I can see clear everywhere? But when I come up it isn't clear.
Maybe just magnifying effect?

I couldn't get them in my prescription but ordered the ready made prescription goggles which look well made and @ £12 are cheaper than the supermarkets but slighter dearer than the ones I have been using which have been lasting only a year! Thank-you!

Yes it is the magnifying effect of the water! But I need my script goggles to even see the water!

As far as i know you dont get anything fancy with prescription goggles like astigmatism correction and the magnification is usually rounded to whole number, +1.00 +2.00 and so on. Am currently online shopping for some elasticated straps for my normal glasses instead so just a heads up

I think just having air touching your eye rather then water stops the intense blur you tend to get without goggles and even with normal eyesight. There is probably some fancy physics refraction gubbins to explain it.

Great price. I paid £12 for a pair that were on offer a couple of years ago. Never seen them this cheap.

Thanks OP-now to get the waterproof earphones/MP3 player I saw the other day!

yup, just spent ages finding my prescription and now i'm not gonna order cause i will only end up with lenses!

Agree, these are not prescription goggles. I use both goggles and a mask for swimming or diving and require prescription lenses. These do not fit the bill.

Are there's for both eyes? The photo is misleading.

Just spend £28 @ Vision Express for a near identical set. BARG.

Yes, for both eyes. Although a swimming monocle does sound like an interesting idea.

Good price , thanks for posting.

Thanks but as per description
age guide - suitable for ages 5-14 and smaller adults

Correct link below £17 for a pair (adult size). You can also choose different powers for each eye e.g. -1.5 for right eye, -2.0 for left.

Hot but they don't have my prescriptios.

now all i need is a waterproof kindle and im sorted

How could they do tat if your R and L eye are significantly different size one to each other.
For instance L = -7.0 and R = - 3.0

It seems to me only one size to fit L & R eye to be ffor L&R eye??. IS there any way to order a diffirebnt size for L&R ??

thanks

How can you see under water i don't see anything i have speedo glasses

No good without assembly kit

Mine have arrived, though just the lenses. They are standard shape and size, so even buying a pair of cheap regular goggles to take the headband and nose-bridge from will mean they are a bargain. I got the same prescription for each eye so don't need to worry about getting them upside down (there's only a 0.25 difference in my eyes, which is fine for the odd hour I will wear these).

All in all, I'm chuffed with them.
