I posted this one last year but noticed the offer was still on (Tesco Lakeside).
Seems an amazing offer to me, ideal for cycling and other sports.
On the website they only seem to offer the sunglasses + £80 for prescription lenses, but got this one confirmed instore @ £40 including prescription lenses by the girl in the opticians.

Thanks for the heads up will check this out tomorrow.
Heat and rep.

Would I be able to get a pair of these for my son? He's 8 but has a big head. lol

I'm going to try again this week at my local Tesco. Last year after your original post I was told its an extra £80 for perscription lenses.
Wish me luck.

will check this tomorrow, urgently need a pair of glasses.

Any free eye tests out there at the moment?

is this only at the Lakeside tesco?

All sorts of presciption sunglasses ]available here with lenses from £24

This seemed to be a great deal, so phoned Tesco Lakeside to check it out. Was told that they had the £40 frames and that prescription lenses were available for an extra £80. That put me off somewhat. Still I thought I'd go along there and check it out.

The display stand in the Tesco opticians is a bit confusing. Top and bottom of the sunglass stand are prominent notices that prescription lenses are available for £80 extra. These are fitted in a holder that sits behind the tinted sunglass lenses. Most of the couple of dozen or so pairs of sunglasses also have individual stickers also saying the prescription lenses are available for an extra £80. HOWEVER, there were 3 or 4 pairs, including the pair pictured in the original post, that didn't have the individual stickers on. I asked the assistant how much these would be with prescription lenses. She said that she expected that they would be £40 for the sunglasses and another £80 for the prescription lenses, but that she'd better check since they were not individually stickered. She was very surprised when they came up on her system as £40 complete.

I don't know whether this is a mistake on Tesco's part or not. However, didn't argue and ordered a pair on the spot. They insisted I have a free eye test, to verify that my 13 month old prescription was still ok, which I had no probs with. I paid the £40 and was told they'll be ready in around 10 days.

This seems an exceptionally good deal. I've found similar wraparound glasses on the web, but nothing cheaper than around £250-300.

Congrats to Cycleman for spotting this and heat added.

Update: Got a call from Tesco today (Tuesday 21/7) telling me my specs were ready for pickup.
