Brilliant bit of kit, a good retailer and a nice price on that guy... Very, very tempted for a couple of projects I work on... Had my eye on some Mackie and Soundcraft gear, but PreSonus is good too...
It's not clear from the specs how many channels this can output over USB. A lot of mixers will only output a single mixed stereo signal over USB rather than all channels.

it would seem its all of them. ACE

Question:
Can i record separately each channel in a daw?
Answer:Hi, there are two different way to record with this unit: Connect a StudioLive AR16 USB mixer to your computer via USB 2.0, and you have an 18x4 multitrack digital recorder, ready to capture all input channels plus the main mix to a Mac or Windows PC with professional, 24-bit/96 kHz quality. An onboard stereo SD recorder lets you record the main mix without a computer—just hit Record and go. Like most 16 track mixers though, you do not have 16 separate inputs, you have 1-8, then 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-16 are combined on the same input channel. I hope that helps, let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
I'm planning to start a series of podcasts with an author friend when things get back to normal (!)...

I was thinking of getting a Zoom H6, as I doubt I'll need to record more than 4 channels at once then the edit on the PC. Would this be a better idea as I see records???

Thanks. . .

That makes this an even better deal, superb! Surprised they don't make a big deal about this in their marketing text.

The zoom can record 6 channels at once if you use the stereo XY capsule, use the Line-in or use the XLR extender.
A lot of mixer for the money. Presonus have done very well recently with their digital mixer range as well as their DAW software.

Also, PMT are a highly respected (one of the last few) music retailers in the UK so ordering from them should not be a problem at all.

Both will do the job fine, this one has more (can record on 12 channels if needed), H6 more portable, this is cheaper.

I hope so as I ordered a Yamaha keyboard from them some weeks ago as they claimed they had it in stock. It soon transpired that they didn't have any stock, but they have decided to hold onto my money anyway. They say that they hope to have more stock in a few weeks time. We'll see.
I have had confirmation of shipment on this product well done PMT.
