Powerful enough to rinse (wet) mud off a bike?

Barely from my experience, youd need a brush too to remove any thick stuff then rinse then maybe brush again before rinsing again. I have a cheap 12v pump off ebay and a 20l jerry can i use for washing the bikes after a day in mud, its more than powerful to blast even the stickiest mud off.

I have used this one for a few years, not let me down. Would recommend.

Is this Ok for fence stain spraying?

Edit: found in q&a

This product is not suitable for use with fence paint.

This is a low power spray for spraying a fine mist over trees and bushes.

You won't be able spray anything thicker than water.

On the most pin point spray, you might be able to remove a little dirty from a bike, but it would take AGES!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong with these but I've bought about 5, and each one only lasts a few times before it starts leaving everywhere when I pump it

To be fair I’ve used this same one from screwfix for spraying fence panels with thinned fence paint ( ronseal sprayable ) and it worked a treat.

BUT it goes on the fence thick in parts as it spits a lot as opposed to spray so a lot of waste really, good time saver but what you save in time you lose in material.

I use a Hozelock version of this which is designed as a car wash, for washing bikes. My son races BMX and often I have to go in my car so I fill it up and take with me to wash the bike after the races and it works a treat.

I bought it from Halfords well over 20 years ago and it's still going strong, even though it often just gets left out in the back garden!!

Id suggest being a bmx racer, his bike isn't getting 'dirty' in the first place. Not many bmx tracks made of mud these days.

Well you would be very very wrong, and I'm not really sure how you can comment on something other people are doing if you aren't there!

We last raced at Platt Fields (outdoor) in the Manchester BMX summer series and most of the track is made from dolomite - the white stuff they use in road building. It was chucking it down all day and the bikes, riders, and even all the dads were completely caked in the stuff by the end, some of the bikes were not even recognisable and it took a lot of cleaning to get them rinsed off.

Our own BMX track is made of both mud and dolomite as well and the new one being built by Hudu is also going to be a mix of tarmac and dolomite so mix that with rain and you have a big mess.

I got one of these a few weeks ago for that reason and it works great from me. I wont use it to do the whole bike (paintwork etc) but I use it for the gears etc to get the thick mud off that stops the gears working and for that its great.

The one problem with mine was it came with no instructions so had to look online how to fill it. This video below was a godsend for me.

thanks for the info....
when you used it with ronseal, were you able to clean it and reuse it for other 'expected' things like weed killer? I understand if you use this or any sprayer for thicker liquids and dont clean properly they can end up clogged....
I have this. It's brilliant. Used it for last few years and works like brand new

Yep, just remember to flush it with clean water straight after the ronseal ( use the pump as well with water to clear the tube and spray head ) also you don’t have to use ronseal sprayable, any cheap brand of wood preserver will be fine, I find the cheaper it is the thinner it is so it doesn’t need thinning down.

Any water based cheap stuff for spraying, as I say you’ll go through a lot of it if you spray it cos no matter how hard you try it’ll go on very thick in parts due to the splatter effect as opposed to fine spray mist so keeping it cheap is best if spraying the stuff

P.s watch out for your next door neighbours washing line
